Just saying, I get that a conglomerate large as BMW probably retain lawyers for their lawyers so no one f-up but history has shown that they are not impervious to the occasional mishap here and there, some are even kind of humorous..
The info in this document is more or less accurate but the reason I assumed it was an earlier version is because the pricing is missing for most items we have a number for already.
N55 (N55B30T0) features indeed an open deck layout, but the S55 (S55B30T0) is closed deck.

In the past BMWNA was mistaken by indicating in some press materials and on its website that the N55 sporting the M2 was closed deck. That mistake was rectified.

See here:

1) For those who missed the M2 N55 engine 'open/closed deck' rap battle.

In the past an epic-esque debate raged on this forum tackling the question whether the N55B30T0 engine powering the base M2 was 'open deck' or 'closed deck'.

I had my doubts about the accuracy of official initial BMW 'closed deck' information and explained on the forum why I believed the base M2 engine to be 'open deck'. To my eyes, there was a mismatch of information. By doing so I inevitably challenged the official initial BMW information stating 'closed deck' (threads: here, here, here and here). Some forum fellows kindly commented that I got it wrong ("rather weak conjecture" as someone coined it).

The discussion seemed to be sealed after 'closed deck' confirmation by e-mail by BMWNA (when inquired by some forum fellow in order to end the forum discussion for once and for all). This 'closed deck' confirmation didn't convince me and I persisted: 'open deck'. Some lost their temper and in some way or another blamed me for not being capable of handling the (alleged) 'closed deck' truth.

And later the final answer came through: BMWNA confirmed in the end that - as I had supposed - the M2 engine is effectively 'open deck'. All 'closed deck' references have vanished from BMW M2 press releases and the BMWNA website. And, some forum fellows of the 'flat earth society' who had been rather unkind with me without merit, went quiet.

Before - twice the mistaken 'closed deck' reference (former link, now dead: https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-models/m2.html):

After (former link, now re-allocated: https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-models/m2.html):

M2 Competition and M2 CS, on the other hand, feature an S55 engine = closed deck engine layout.

2) Two recent M2 N55 engine deck pictures confirming 'open deck':

Someday is today - here you go: 'open deck' (source: here - Nov 2019):

3) In general: 'open deck' versus 'closed deck':

explanation:

S55 engine dismantled and repaired. Also quickly showing the difference between the N55 'open deck' design and S55 'closed deck' design. Interesting tech stuff. In German, but with English subtitles:

Still mentioning "120" F80 M3 CS here, which is clearly inaccurate (AFAIK 1200 were scheduled and 1263 were built - see here for F80 M3 production statistics).

Original M2:

Inaccurately claiming "closed deck" for the N55 M2 (in reality that engine features an "open deck" engine layout - see for example here):

Put my order in today

(In order bank)

Numero uno..

The pamphlet I was ordering from very clearly had a "carbon pack" that included the buckets.

What did it have the price listed as? Curious what it will be in USD vs Canadian pricing.

62 base.

But there were no prices on anything else.

So once our configuration is online we'll know how much it is.

Those that have had a Center enter their specs into the order bank have seen pricing via a VIR (Vehicle inquiry Report) Example below. Subject to change?

Edit, BTW status code 47 equals the order bank which means no guaranteed production date. Also, there is no guarantee of a production slot.

When a Center gets their next allocation the order will be pulled/paired with a production number, but it will get matched to a production number only if the dealer gets a G87 in their allocation, which again is not guaranteed.

Yeah I don't see the "carbon pack" which included the buckets, roof, and cf interior trim.

So we'll see how much that bundle costs.

I believe the us will have the cheapest m2 since the DXY is through the roof right now.

Just submitted my build to the order bank - notably no CF buckets available (yet?) but I was able to select CF trim. TBD

Got added to the order bank at the dealership. I've known the GM there for a while, old family friend, so hopefully they take care of me. Funny thing, I didn't even really want to be added, I just told him I was interested but wanted individual colors and he added me anyway for when they get allocations lol

Add me to the list of "added to the order bank". Fairly large dealer in Georgia and I am their first order. Fingers crossed they get an allocation soon...

Have you talked to them since the release? If you haven't, I'd reach out.

Here's what I was told.

No dealers have an allocation yet, BUT they should put you into their order bank. Maybe they're waiting on the pricing guides to be released.
