Am I correct that there are TWO types of steering feedback with Lane Departure
1) trying to force you back into your lane and
2) vibrating the steering wheel when crossing a white line ?

I switched No 1 off (thinking that was all that was needed) but looks like I need to untick two boxes.

Am I right and can I create ID8 shortcuts for both ?

Yes.
There is lane departure warning (early, medium and reduced) and vibration intensity of the steering wheel.
RTM, set both to the lowest options not you can’t permanently switch them of.
