No, i have note 8. Plus s9 is almost identical to s8 so no reason. The s10 on the other hand will be a different looking phone. Samsung always make 2 phones that look alike, like s6/s7 s8/s9 so it means s10 will be different.

You can't roll back official updates I'm afraid, you would need to root it and load up a custom ROM. I did this to mine within 48hrs of getting it but I tend to root all my phones anyway.

I've actually been thinking of updating to the new version, what about it don't you like?

Don't like the fact that the app icons now look like they've been designed by a five year old. Don't like some of the sounds that have been changed. Don't like how they've changed the way all your open tabs are layed out. Just don't really like any of what they've changed.
A mate of mine really likes it as he had an iPhone before and he said it's now more like an iPhone.

Ugh..... If there was ever anything to put me off a phone, that sentence right there is it....

Regarding the icons etc, you should still have Samsung Themes so you should be able to change that pretty easily (Material Dark is a decent free theme)...

As for the sounds, other than changing each sound individually (if possible) under the sound/notification settings I'm not sure what to suggest. I'm not sure if sound "theme" packs are a thing. You might also be able to use "Zedge" to customise the sound a bit.

Not sure I can help with the tabs bit, A new Launcher might help there. There are a few Oreo Launchers on the Play Store.

I know this is all a bit of a ballache but it might help alleviate your pain!

I have an S9+ and I agree that the new update is terrible. Cartoony bright coloured icons and I want my roll-a-dex style open apps again.

I don't think I've come across anyone who likes it apart from my mate who used to have an iPhone. There are loads of us at work with S9's and none of us like it!

S9 owner here too. New update is awful. Also some apps don't seem to work as well as before.

Icons look terrible and they seem to have removed the option to remove the borders around the icons.

Anyone noticed the multi window function doesn't work anymore? (Where you can have the screen split with two apps open at the same time).
Looks like the function has been taken away as the option to turn it on in advanced features has gone.*
Thought it might just be a problem with my phone but it's the same on some friends phones.
I thought that was a really good feature and dont get why they would get rid of it. Unless ofcourse, they're trying to get people to upgrade to the S10
