Question for Advan, LSD related
Thought I'd post this up, instead of PM, because I think the info would clear some stuff up for others with similar questions hopefully.
I'm looking at purchasing an aftermarket LSD. I have a 'large welded' type diff (build DEC07) There is currently an MFactory group buy on, and thus I am interested. My understanding is that the LSD I want is the same one as for the 'large bolted' diff. However due to mine being welded, it requires extra effort for the install. My questions: Can and and has Advan done the 'welded' diff install, or does it have it be done offsite at a transmission specialist? Is it possible to get a guide with how much we are looking at here? for what appears to me to be major surgery! Thanks for any help you can offer Dan |

Hi there Guys
Yes we have done this before, there are two processes the diff goes to our diff shop here in Sydney it is striped and checked, the diff carrier is sent off to the machinist for modification and drilling. Once all the machining is done our diff shop assembles and sets up the diff ready for fitting back into your car. Time is around 10 days. Make sure you allow this time, 10 DAYS i hate phone calls asking is it ready yet, but sir its only been 3 days |
