Blown n51?
So I’ve been fixing this 2007 e92 328i N51 for a few months now, it’s been slacked on maintenance and I fixed a whole list of issues. I also engine flushed it as I saw sludge buildup on the lifters, I still see some sludge but when I drained the oil after the flush I saw some debris come out, it didn’t seem like anything crazy. I also noticed some metal shavings in the oil filter housing but I read that it’s happened to others and that when u tighten the oil filter sometimes the aluminum threads shave off into the oil. I’ve done 3 oil changes in the past 2k miles and I never noticed any glitter or metal shavings from the bottom of the engine. but yesterday after about 10 minutes on cold start I did a pull to about 5-6k rpm, after I parked it and turned it back on the whole engine started knocking like crazy. I get misfires on 6,5,4, and 2 no other codes besides misfires. I never saw any type of oil pressure light come on and the car never overheated. I pulled those spark plugs out and everything seemed fine, I switched the non misfiring cylinders with the misfiring one and nothing. Also about 500 miles ago I pulled all 6 injectors out and tested them, non seemed to be leaking and spray patterns seemed to be correct. I also replaced the big DISA bc when I bought it the original one was broken, I’ve changed all 6 spark plugs and ignition coils. I’m really just confused on what’s going on it sounds like the lifters are stuck or potentially broken. I also pulled the oil filter after this noise happened and I don’t see any glitter I just see the slight metal shavings from before. I bought the car with 103400k and it’s at 105500k now.
