E91 Wagons! 2011 328xi for $17,500, fully optioned? Buy now or after holidays?
Noobie here, so thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Backstory: I'm looking to buy an E91 wagon in the next 3-4 months, and there is a 2011 available locally for $17,500. I've been looking for 1-2 months and it's been tough to find one with the options I want (listed below). This one has everything, but it also has higher miles and xDrive, which I would prefer to avoid. Maintenance records, via carfax, seems fine, and I would add a Route 66 warranty as well. Do you think there will more used car options available after the holidays? I'm (over)thinking that people will buy new cars, then sell their old cars.

Wagons are always rare, if you're not hard pressed for a car right now you should wait for the right one. Personally I wouldnt want Xdrive.

^WHS and when a rwd (especially manual) comes up you'll have to pay a premium else someone will and snatch it from you. But in general I would avoid eBay, something like this you want to check out in person unless the seller was someone like EAG...

My only recommendation is buy exactly what you want at that price point. Don't compromise. If you want to spend less and willing to spend down the line to make the car how you want it then keep the net as large as possible.

I dont think 20 is that high for that car, but like I said, if you're not hard pressed to buy a car this second, to drive to work in the morning or something, wait for the right one.

Enthusiast Auto Group asks for sky high prices on E91s with RWD and manual, like this one:
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...ink=true&Log=0 I am not sure they get those prices, but never hurts to inquire. I guess they start high and finish much higher than otherwise by doing that. Here's another one: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...odelCode1=328I They just put it up, higher miles, and there are no photos to confirm whether it is manual or stick. Also, no mention of navi, but having lived with my wife's E90 nav, I'd say it is a better car without it. I just navigate with my iPhone and it is much quicker than iDrive.

Thanks everyone - still pondering, while the owner also thinks about selling it. The warranty is good through 10/2018. After some research, it seems like that's probably work $1k-$1.5k. Since I'm not in a hurry, I'm going to find the color and option combo that I want, even if I pay a little more than kbb or nada.

Still on the search - that e91 owner kept their car. Question - is 90k miles on the N52 too much? There is a 2007 e91, rear-wheel drive with the options I want, and it would give me some cash for new suspension, wheels, and even an extended warranty. Any thoughts are welcome...

Nah, the n52 is pretty solid. If it's the spec you want, get it.

This is probably the safest and lowest maintenance configuration of the e9x family. Even cheaper if it's non-Navi.
