ERROR CODE ATTACK
08 328i. I had been having a smell of burning oil so yesterday I checked for any oil leaks and saw that the valve cover was leaking pretty good I had pulled out an ignition coil cause there was a lot of oil around it so wanted to check that and it was fine. In that process I had dropped my flashlight in the engine bay and it dropped to the bottom so I removed the air filter housing to try to reach and wasn’t able too so put it back on and lifted the car. Then right after I started my car to park it back in car lot and it was running weird the rpm’s weren’t going up but it seemed like it was accelerating while parked if that makes sense then I got error codes.
2E83. 2E85. 2E8B. 2EE6. Is it possible I did something wrong or was this all just bad timing? |

I assume you have N51 Engine (in CA)? Possible BSD bus fault.
Do you have a Scan Tool or Diagnostic Software (INPA/ISTA) that can read Live Data? Do you have an ROTS (Radiator Outlet Temp Sensor) on the Lower Radiator Hose? If you can read either/both the ECTS (Engine Coolant Temp Sensor) Signal/Temp, and/or the ROTS Signal/Temp, are both plausible? Is connector properly connected to EACH? Make/Model Scan Tool, or Diagnostic Software (INPA/ISTA/ProTool)? George |

I searched my vin and it says N52N. I’ll try checking out the bsd bus. I don’t think it reads live data but the only scan tool I have is VEEPEAK version 5 with bimmercode and bimmerlink. And I’m not sure about the ROTS but I’ll look up what it looks like to see if I have that. For 2EE6 it says” signal or value implausible “ and it says that for 2E85 as well.
