rear view mirror homelink fuse
Hey guys anyone know which fuse is the one for the homelink? i just recently got my battery cable recall done and now my homelink doesnt work...the light doesnt even come on when i push any of the buttons.
you guys think it could be a fuse blown out or something worse?

I came across this thread yesterday. Went to hardwire my radar detector and noticed there was no power on the green/white wire for the homelink. Checked fuses and everything is good.
I had my battery recall done around May and noticed yesterday my compass and homelink no longer work. I don't believe I popped fuses, I've done a lot of electrical work before. Did you find a solution to this problem? |

oh yeah you have to go into your glove compartment and get into the fuse box...just look at the placement card and find the one that goes to the homelink.
cant remember exactly which one it is but youll figure it out. they just moved the fuse over or something which i dont know why.

Did anyone ever get a response on what it could be for those that had no problem with their fuses? My home link led doesn't light up and my compass doesn't work either.

I hate to bump an old thread but has anyone figured this out? I recently installed an autodim, homelink, and compass mirror in my 2013 335is. The mirror will not power on and all of the wiring is correct. Please let me know if you can help.

I never was able to figure anything out. However as of recently I began thinking about it again and did some research. I plan on seeing if everything in the coding is "on" such as the compass, etc. I read on the F15 forum that even if its "on" sometimes turning it "off" and back "on" fixes this issue. I'll try it this weekend and see what happens.

Could you clarify that a little bit? I think I’m not reading your post the way you intended. My car’s production date is 2007/03, any idea where or what fuse it gets it’s power from? Thanks

I replaced my mirror to add High Beam Assist.
The replacement mirror would not light up at first. I thought there was something wrong with my wiring or the mirror. Then I read that you had to default code the FSD after changing the VO. Sure enough after doing this my mirror lit up, the compass came on, etc. I don't remember if that also affected the Homelink or not, but it definitely affected everything else. |

I default coded the FSD.
If you are not familiar with this I suggest to search for default coding here. There are several threads that explain the process in detail and the software tools you need to do that. Default coding which is normally done after a vehicle order change, reverts the module to factory default conditions per the list of hardware the car believes it has in the vehicle order. In effect the firmware in the module already has the correct programming in place for many different options but does not enable these options until it both reads the available hardware from the vehicle order then is default coded to enable that hardware. I hope that clarifies it. |
