Question m240 sport plus mode???

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Mine is on order, been reviewing the online manual.
I've seen mention in reviews of this car about the "sport plus" mode, some reviewers saying how the car "comes alive" in sport plus.

Also sport plus been mentioned on this forum.

I can see no reference in the manual to such a mode. There is sport, and then one can do individual sport, one can turn off traction control etc, one can manually shift etc., but there is no "sport plus" mode whatsoever mentioned in the manual.

Can anyone clue in this clueless person?

If you push Sport a 2nd time it'll go into Sport+. At least that how it is on my F30, but I believe it's the same.

sport plus is a more aggressive sport mode. I can commute in sport mode if I want tons of pep. However in sport plus the car seems to hold gears and is always ready to go. If you come into a corner and let go of the gas it will hold that 4k rpm waiting for you to power out of the turn.

This seems to be my experience with plus so far, If you are out in the twisties sport plus will enhance the fun.

Isn't it strange that the manual has no mention of this??

There are four things you can adjust: shocks/dampening, steering, engine, and transmission.

For the shocks and steering, there are only two options: comfort and sport.

For the engine and transmission, there are three levels of adjustment: comfort, sport, and sport plus.

In Sport Plus mode, everything is set to the most aggressive option.

Like vudumonkey said, the transmission in sport plus in annoying unless you're driving on the track or back roads. It keeps the revs really high. So I dont run sport plus mode. Instead, I have it on individual with the engine set to sport plus and the transmission, shocks, and steering set to sport.

I've tried Adaptive Mode on my wifes X5, but I cannot tell any difference from Comfort.

If you are within your break-in period and do not want your revs going over the 4500 rpm listed in the manual, DO NOT USE SPORT PLUS. You will immediately go over the "break-in" redline the manual calls for. Like previous posters have said, this mode will hold gears and downshift aggresively.

in "sport individual" you adjust engine/trans/steering/damping.
you will find sport+ there.
