MHD Fails to write stock

Trying to track down 2ABC and 3100, attempted to flash back to stock to eliminate the custom tune as a potential problem. MHD failed twice yesterday, I thought battery voltage was too low. Left the car on a charger overnight and this morning at 13.2v, with a 15A charger connected, it failed again.

I'm pretty sure the ECU is in recovery mode and it won't start (haven't tried though).

I am using the MHD WiFi adapter

Any ideas how to fix this? Pic attached

AC/radio are off. Looks like BT on the phone may be turned on; would that cause this failure? It's in airplane mode and I'm fairly sure it has no SIM in it (only used for tuning).

Have you successfully flashed with this same setup? Has anything changed since? Did you open the door at any point or am I the only one stupid enough to screw it up that way? I always roll down the driver's window and run the cable out of it so I can reach in and press the engine start button, then flash while I'm free to roam around without messing up the process.

Hmm yeah I definitely opened/closed the door yesterday when I was working on it. This morning I am not sure since it's at a shop and they sent me the pic and what I described in the first post. Very likely they opened the door at some point--would that cause it to fail?

I'm planning on going by the shop in about 30-45 min with all the advice gathered from this thread and try it again myself.

I've flashed it many times with this setup and never had an issue. I used to use a K/DCAN cable + OTG before the MHD wifi adapter came in, but that's the only thing that's changed I believe. My friend used the same device to log into MHD recently (since the last time I successfully flashed it) but I logged him out and logged myself back in.

I have the app on my cell phone as well (iPhone 11 Pro Max); I could try it from that phone but I have not used it in the past.

Opening the door while in progress can/will interrupt it. There's also been some reports lately of people having issues with the WiFi adapters all of a sudden(although those reports were about logging, so maybe not relevant). Try your cable again and see what happens since it sounds like that's the only thing that has changed.

Yes it will. I done few times w/ it on. I'm also using wifi adapter. After taking bt off it was able to flash back to stock for me.

Got it to work! Hooked up my e30 (running) to the e92’s battery. Checked for any updates, Restarted phone, turned off Bluetooth and tried with the WiFi adapter. Failed again around 40% complete

Restarted phone, tried with the cable, and 20 anxiety filled minutes later it was successful. Still throwing the codes (as I expected, since it was incredibly unlikely the tune was causing issues)...but that’s what I’m paying the shop to figure out

Glad you got it working, but disappointing still. Curious as to what the wireless issue is. I was just about ready to move from the cable and buy the WiFi adapter until I started reading about all of these issues people are having.

It'd been flawless for me up until this point. Kept it plugged in basically at all times, connects well to the phone with no issues and no risk of kicking the cable (plus its a hell of a lot cleaner than having an ugly cable running by your feet).

I'd emailed MHD directly about this issue, and told them I was able to get it to work with a wired connection. I asked if there are known issues with the wifi unit and I'll let you know what they say.
