Surprised to see these reports. Mine was just barely more than the '19 S550 Mustang it replaced. Something like $610 every 6 months with State Farm. I'm 52 in the mid-west though. Excellent credit. Clean driving record.

I use an insurance broker. They shop my policies annually (home, auto and umbrella). For many years consecutively, Cincinnati insurance company has come back the best value for prices and coverage. Aside from the rest of their coverage, their glass coverage is great too. When getting windshield replaced (have had many in past few years) they work with my shop that does the film to have it covered first before replacing with no extra hassle or out of pocket. Just a nice little touch on top of the value.

I switched to Progressive from State Farm 2 years ago. I've been very happy with them so far - their online tools & mobile app are both excellent, I've dealt with them on the phone a couple of times and those experiences were good, and the rates are super competitive for me.

SE Arizona, age 66, clean record, standard coverages including comp with zero deductible glass:

'19 Golf R - $350
'21 M2 Comp - $425

6-month rates, just renewed, up 17% from previous period, but that seems to be standard for just about everybody lately.

So i'm going to shop around and find out what the deal is. I'll post the results.
I feel like WA is really expensive these days. Curious to see what you find because that’s almost exactly what I’m currently paying for my M2. Will definitely be shopping around in 5 or so months

Came from a '18 S550 PP1 Prem. G87 went up about $17 / mo or so. Seemed like a reasonable upgrade but nowhere near that high of a price point.

I got my renewal recently and saw the $180 a month increase. 4x cars in house. My 16 year old on the JCW policy. Wife in X5 with an at fault accident and I thought I was getting hosed, but seeing this thread makes me realize I'm not. USAA

If you are a Costco member, try Costco Connect through American Family Insurance.

What do they mean by qualification? I saved $1500 moving from Allstate to Costco Connect. I am in Florida.

Idk - it came back with "you do not meet our qualifications for an auto policy quote, but you can continue with your home policy". The home policy quote was $3,100 more than my current premium with State Farm.

I need to find another insurance company. I pay $12k a year for M2, GT3, Land Rover LR4 and a Mercedes GLC. Perfect driving record, but 2 teens 😬.

That’s price doesn’t seem that bad for having teens in the house.

What cars are the teens driving…? lol. If be hiding all the car keys!

I’m at just under $900 / 6 months with a perfect driving record and bundled home policies and a driving course discount. Not a cheep car to insure.

Just got a renewal for 6 months for my 2023 M2. $667.24. Multi-car discount. Retired. Pleasure car. Just me on the policy.

Don't drive the car that much. Since April 14 have but just over 6K miles on the car. (By way of comparison I put around 70K miles on my Boxster in its first year...)

At any rate not hardly driving the M2 now with winter here (Benton County, AR). (For use in bad/cold weather I have a 2024 BMW 230i xDrive.) Might take the M2 out Saturday when there is no forecast of snow flurries and the high is expected to get up to 50F.

Trying to figure out insurance rates is like solving the meaning of life. There are SO many variables. When my premiums get too high, I switch. I once left Geico because my premium went up like 30% for no reason and then back to Geico a year or so later because they had the best quote! Makes no sense at all. They could have just lowered my rate to retain me as a customer.

I’m pushing 50, clean record and pay $470 a month for 2024 M2, 2021 Bronco, 2020 STi and 2018 A4. It’s reasonable for now.

Once in a while -- last time was a year ago -- I got a quote from another insurance company just to have something to compare to what I was paying. The other insurance company's quote came in a few dollars more than what I was paying.

Before I renew I'm going to request a credit report from the company (not one of the big 3 credit agencies) that provides a credit report to my insurance company.

try specialty insurance like grundy or hagerty. there are some stipulations though (need a daily and garage, and you set your own mileage restriction on the car).

i have a gt3 and m2 comp. combined its like 3300/year. m2 is 600-700 of that. i'm 38

Chubb should be thrown into that small group. Doesn't work for a daily.

I have Grundy for my Callaway Z06, and you can add a policy for your other vehicles under their MVP program. It's quoted through Travelers, and when I got a quote last summer it was higher than my State Farm premium. My SF is set to renew next week so I'll ask Grundy for another quote.

I have Geico. $1,700/year for a 2018 M2. I've had no problems with them. When my wife totaled her M235i earlier this year they paid a fair price very quickly.
