Broke the white connector when lowering
Hi all! This is my first thread and im new here at the forum. So right to the problem. Me and my bud lowered the G87 M2 and accidentality broke one of the connectors on top of the shock absorber. I was wondering if you have any tips on how to fix them before I proceed to mix with it myself.

Can't really judge the severity of the damage.
Hope someone else can offer some advice regarding a repair but my impression is to replace the connector which may mean a new whatever the connector is a part of. Last edited by RockCrusher; 03-10-2024 at 09:20 AM.. Reason: Spelling: replaced advise with advice... |

Are you saying one of the 'pins' snapped off?
I dont think that connector is a 'serviceable' item...but I could be wrong. A quick visit to the BMW Parts department would yield a diagram showing what can be replaced.

Unfortunately a new strut is the only easy fix.
A "bodge" maybe is to try and solder wires to the remaining pin stub and the intact pin, then find a connector that is compatible with the plug to avoid damaging or altering the wiring. If the external plug is used, then filling the connector on the top of the strut with silicone and weather sealing the plug with heat shrink is probably advisable. |

Difficult to see, but the pin looks bent to me, not snapped. Did you try to carefully pry it up? That is part of the adaptive damper, there is no replacement part for it.

Sadly its not only bent, however seems like F series has the same connector. I have a pair of old ones laying around. I might try to do a lil wire job there and hopefully it works. worst case its new dampers...

Well played carefree, in doing same, getting a suspension shop to replace my springs they fucked up. With the help of guys here I fixed it. I was so lucky it was a seating issue in the connector and nothing was broken like OPs.

I am pretty sure that it is not serviceable. You are going to have to replace the strut. As an alternative, you can code out the EDC error but you will lose EDC.
