Envelope style cargo net mod

I don't like the factory floor net, it doesn't work well for larger items or things that you just want to keep upright in the trunk, like a grocery bag, so I decided to rig up an envelope style cargo net that will do the job.

Purchased the net on Amazon: link

Next, and this is optional, modified the hooks and thinned them out a little bit with a utility knife so it's easier to hook them to the side pockets. You don't have to do this, it just makes them a little easier to attach.

Last step, attach the bottom hooks to the side pockets, and slide the top loops over the side hooks.

The net works really well, I can easily drop a grocery bag in and it stays put, or my backpack, or any small items. Very easy to set up, and completely reversible.

Nice, but won’t work on an MY23 onwards UK version as there’s only one side net on the left.

For UK cars, I wonder if there's something that could be attached to the liner to give you a hook point. A different way to do this, that I used in my wife's Acura, is to use a hook/loop strap and just attach it to the fuzzy side walls in the trunk. Acura's trunk sides a fuzzier than ours so it worked really well.

Or maybe just drill a small hole into the liner, attach a loop or something similar.

Not sure about UK cars, but my 2023 US car had only one grocery bag hook. I was able to purchase another one which replaces one of those push pin fasteners. This is for the top mount point as newer cars only have 1 grocery bag hook, won’t help for a bottom mount point unfortunately
