I plan on ordering the yellow DRL's but I did just come across the RGB/Yellow DRL install video and wanted to post it incase anyone wanted to go that route. Not nearly as bad as I thought.

Start up animations and colors are nice though. Decisions decisions

Nice find, I was waiting for this as I'm not personally a fan of the yellow.

Certainly illegal in UK. Surprised if they were legal elsewhere.

Half the stuff on the car is illegal, tint, exhaust, tune, streaming video. What’s one more thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I see Jeeps and lifted pickups with rgb headlights and underbody lights all the time. I would mostly enjoy the wake up animation stuff and parking lot meet showing off. I’m not running down the road using colors that could be mistaken for emergency vehicles. Common sense applied you can still have a little fun.

No need to justify to me, I’m simply pointing it out because common sense is not common.

Just did the yellow DRL's and while I had the wheels off 12mm spacers all around.

I took all but one of the lining screws off so that it completely pulled away. Took about and hour and 15 to do both sides.

Not quite sure how I feel about the yellow on black . I like the yellow on purple though.

Kind of ironic liking the stock white color over the yellow. Years ago it would have been the other way around

Hang on isn’t actually illegal?
I think there’s some law about adding LEDs, But you’re allowed almost any colour you want ok the front except for red and something else I forget. They can’t flash certain colours like blue as it mimics emergency vehicles but I think it could still be legal if you don’t use the flash.

Not an expert here at all just trying to remember what that police YouTuber guy said on this topic. https://youtu.be/REv6xjVlypA?si=PWGdqjgHIu3Z9d6M

IIRC, Yellow drls are only legal with your main lights on, so technically not drls lol.
Happy to be proven otherwise with the appropriate regs.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/...lation/11/made between this and the police officer I deduce that you can stick any colour on the front you want as long as it isn’t red and as long as it doesn’t flash.

Cheers.

I’d love to see how long it takes to get pulled if have blue or green lights at the front though.

I do see it from time to time and yeah you’re asking to be pulled I imagine.
Funny I saw a 1 series the other day wrapped in flashing Christmas tree lights and I 100% pulled over thinking it was an emergency vehicle for a split second

Guess it’s like other mods - miss spaced number plates being a good example. Cops generally have better things to do so it becomes “acceptable”.

I see Jeep Wranglers all the time with angel eyes in about every color you can imagine. Probably varies based on how strict the given town is with things like that. There are some towns near me that I avoid driving through when possible, to avoid getting nabbed for no front plate.

Am I missing something? What's the point of yellow lights, just to be different?

In my opinion they look very dated and much worse, but each to their own...

The blue/purple-ish ones in the YT link looked quite cool though. I can see that.

The modern CS and CSLs come from BMW with yellow DRLs.
