If I were to delete the rear seat I'd just go for a supra, or cayman.

The deciding factor for me was xdrive, but I really like the Supra and do wish this car was lighter. I feel the weight of the car at higher speeds.

I just received a mail from BMW about this on Friday. I'll check with the dealer (California, Bay Area) on what's going on and let you guys know if there's any development / remedy / etc.

UPD: Scheduled the service for next Monday

UPD2: They changed two side panels and did routine checkup on car underneath stuff.
