Spongy brakes after front end collision
Hi everyone just had a collision at about 20 or 30mph my front end is damaged pretty bad and will need a full rebuild no airbags popped. The only problem is my brakes work normally but now the pad sinks all the way down and I need it fixed because i traveled here and need to safely transport it back to the house to fix the front end

Sorry to hear about your accident. Are you saying the brake pedal now sinks all the way down but you still have good braking power? Do we have any warning lights on the cluster? Any fluid leaks (brake fluid) after the accident?

the brake fluid warning just came on and there’s brake fluid everywhere. after checking. It’s at my friends place i’m at out here so i just have to get an uber to get tools but what could cause a brake fluid leak after a crash? i’m thinking it’s bc i had the brakes applied Nobody’s hurt and the hood is jammed shut idk what to buy for the car to repair it and safely drive back home not enough emergency fund for towing 400 miles

Pull the passenger wheel and inspect, you should be able to easily identify the source of a brake fluid leak.
Did you apply the brakes abruptly? If you had an old rubber brake line it might have split/cracked under the pressure. |

Yes abruptly I’m sure the collision and sudden stop contributed to it busting im checking in the morning just need to get the hood open it’s leaking from both front wheels i think
