Very smart man.

Both are Vernasca leather. Haven't come across anything that's Sensatec.
Sorry but what is Vernasca leather? How does it compare compare to merino leather?

Sensatec is BMW's name for pleather

Dakota is the base leather option, has a large texture to the grain and is coated in a clear finish. Even though it's a base option it looks good and is very durable.

Vernasca is step above Dakota, smaller leather grains, a little bit softer, but still has the clear coating and is also durable.

Napa is a step above Vernasca, even smaller leather grains, even softer, but is still protected with a clear coat and has decent durability.

Merino is the best leather they offer. Very supple, looks and feels amazing, but has no protection and lacks the durability of the other leathers. Very prone to stretching, tearing, and wearing out.

Do you think Merino leather will be offered at all for the G87

According to the futures model thread it's supposed to be available. I'm only reporting what I find.

Yeah, most likely carbon buckets only come in merino and thus require the full leather upgrade as well..

Crazy that it seems the base 2 series will offer better color options inside and out.

It was the same for the F87. The 2 Series had roughly twice as many colors for the interior and exterior. BMW's way of upselling you to a M3/4. Jokes on them, I'll get a Porsche if push comes to shove.

Edit, Here is what I do not get. Why would BMW offer such conservative colors when they usually gear the M2 towards a younger demographic?
I wouldn’t call Toronto Red a conservative color. It is a very bright orangey red metallic color. It will definitely get you noticed.

What doesn’t make sense is that you can even get the base G80 M seats with Vernasca leather for the M240i in some markets. They should at least offer those seats as the base seats instead of the M Sport seats.

Im optimistic that they will. They'd be foolish not to.

Hoping we get 3 seat options.

I overlapped the pixelated G87 interior with that of a M240i from the UK since they have the M Sport seats standard. If you focus on the headrest they seem to perfectly overlap each other which indicates it will indeed receive the same M Sport seats as the M3/4. Nothing is set in stone until the reveal, but at least we have some hope.

Nice detective work. Try the US version and see if you get a noticeable difference?

Someone commented in another thread that they look like dodge challenger seats, ha! I couldn't agree more and one more reason why I'd never get this car unless it has the M Sport seats. Yes, I know the CF buckets are cool and all, but my poor back is telling me to sit that one out, pun intended.

I think calling them challenger seats is quite the exaggeration- the seats in my G42 are much nicer than that comparison suggests lol.

I do expect the better M Sport seats for the G87, and I'm with you regarding the Carbon seats - very cool but not for me.

On the subject of paint colors….the M3 50th Anniversary (50 Jahre Edition) was made available only in the following colors:

Cinnabar Red
Technoviolet Metallic
Interlago Blue Metallic
Fire Orange III
Lime Rock Grey Metallic

Albeit the Jahre package was 12.4k and included other stuff (see screenshot).

If the G87 was made available with a similar package, would anyone here bite?

I'd be out at 12k considering that doesn't include executive package or upgraded seats.

If it were 5-7 and included those colors...yeah I'd be in with Lime Rock.
