I just updated my Combox firmware on my 2011 E90 CIC-MID/Business from:
MX-003.004.031
TX-003.004.031

to
MX-003.005.004
TX-003.005.006

using the UPD01006.bin file. When I try the latest UPD01008.bin, I get an error to the effect of 'Update on USB is not the latest version'. What might be going wrong and what am I missing being stuck on P1006?

I know the multimedia version is the same between 1006 and 1008, so only the telephony is updated, but still - I'd hope to get the latest firmware throughout Is it possible that my car is missing some hardware which is required for 1008 or perhaps has something extra which is not supported in 1008?

I am occuring the same problem. Not able to update on with upd1008.bin.
It always says "not the latest software".

No, I left it at 1006. I suppose it might be related to a physical revision version of the combox. I am happy with the update as music playback from Android now works great. Do you know what the differences between 1006 and 1008 might be? Let me know if you ever manage to push the update

To update to 1008 you will need to set the date with the BC stock to a date prior Jan 1 2024. Set it to 2023 and give it another try.

It really worked! Many thanks Not that I notice a big difference - perhaps a slightly quicker responsive Bluetooth.

Are there any interesting additional tweaks/hacks for the software - say Connected apps, the phone dock, etc?

Just to add some clarity to those having troubles updating. You need to do this in the proper steps otherwise it doesn’t work.

•Change the date
•Remove the USB drive
•Turn the car completely off

•Insert the USB
•Power on the car
•Update

After long search i have found a document that writes out what was updated with the latest update UPD01008

I currently have older software version:
MX-002.005.025
TX-002.005.025

USB works fine, supports 128GB memory stick.
Pixel 7 bluetooth works fine, contacts sync and calling works.
If i update will anything change at all?

Hi Sir, for make update possible UPD01008.bin you need to change the date of the car before the 01.01.2024 and try again.
