Now that we officially know the U.S. will receive the sunroof as standard equipment and the carbon fiber roof will be the only roof option at $2600 what will be your choice?

I am reluctantly forking over $2600 for the CF roof.

Carbon for me. Order Guide in Canada has it at suggested MSRP 1,900 CAD.

There are four seat options in the U.S. Three M Sport seats, Cognac, Black with M color highlight, Black with blue deviated stitching and the Black CF buckets via the CF Package.

I understand no one has seen a moonroof delete option available but is it actually confirmed that this will not be available? They do make slick top 230s so it’s not like they do not have the ability to make it…..

If it’s moonroof or carbon only, I will go carbon.

Going by the Canadian order guide I believe it is an option in Canada so probably in the US as well. Both carbon (1,900 CAD) and moonroof (1,500 CAD) are non-standard options making plain steel the default.

The sunroof is the default equipment in the U.S. The CF roof is the only selectable option. Therefore G87s built for United States distribution will arrive with a sunroof unless the carbon fiber roof option was selected.

Example the blue calipers are the default and what will come on the vehicle unless the red calipers are selected.

I guess I am the only cheap one here. $2.6k is too rich for my blood plus I actually like the added light that the sunroof brings into the cabin.

Interesting difference between US and Canada. Both moonroof (403) and CF roof (40C) are options. Blue brake calipers are also standard but red (3M5) is extra cost suggested MSRP 750 CAD.

Still trying to warm up to the design of the G87, but this is yet another negative, IMHO. I much prefer a slick-top for an M2, and I hate that two-tone look of a black roof with a different body color, and I'd never want a moonroof on an M2. Seems out of place.

I suppose the only way around it would be to get the car in black for a more seamless look on top. As tough as black cars are to keep clean, they do look amazing just after a wash.
