Mass Drivers Got an odd letter from RMV Complaint Regulatory

saying this "Complaint Regulatory: Action used by the RMV to notify a person of a scheduled hearing.

The RMV is required to send a suspension notice to the address of record. In some cases, this notice will require that you see a hearings officer who will review the complaint and take appropriate action.

If the offense is license fraud, you will be required to resolve the matter with the RMV's Enforcement Services Division. To make an appointment, please call (857) 368-9500."

Never heard of such a thing, got me freaked out a bit because on the RMV webpage I have no outstanding things my inursance on three cars renews next month and my plates expire next month odd I still have not got new plate stuff yet but RMV last year did not send me my renewal on my gals car oddly I had to call them about it.

Anybody get one of these?

So 16 years ago I was living in VA had a Va License, was issued a ticket while on call up duty still doing post 9/11 flying. Paid said ticket and never thought of it again. I do remember the ticket well as I was harassed by the town cop as to why I had a VA license and insurance and car was tagged in Michigan and why the car had a roll cage. Told him it's none of his business and so forth.

Now 16 years later have moved 6 times in that span and been licensed in Mass since 2009 they say I didn't pay for it and I have to show proof, or pay up. 15 years give me a break, the Statue for limitations in Mass is 6 years but a speeding has no limitations.

Besides I paid it, like I said I remember it well I was visiting my sisters at their new house they bought in the middle of no where. I doubt the cop that gave me the ticket is even on the force.

So My license was suspended and the Kangaroo court was a moot as the clerk who called would and said nothing can be changed so why the secrecy of a month for no reason. I paid the violation again and saved the receipt digitally so they can go F@#$% themselves and I also called the Ombudsman and my local Rep.

For a ticket that happened 15 years ago and I have no way of proving myself innocent and the state is well know at making glaring administrative errors.

Quote:
Deveney, who had led the Massachusetts RMV since 2015, has been replaced by MassDOT Chief Operating Officer Jamey Tesler, who will serve as acting registrar.

Tesler has been tasked by Pollack with leading a review of the registry’s state-to-state data sharing processes to "ensure the RMV acts as quickly as possible on any information shared by other states."
If this was such a hot ticket item this should have been caught long time ago don't we think.

Sounds about right for Virginia. That state terrifies me.

The MA letter is odd but thankfully you know to keep digital records of tickets and all that now so I'd imagine it will get sorted out if it actually makes it to that hearing. Good luck and keep us posted!

The hearing was not a hearing even thou, they called it one in the letter and phone call. It ended up being a clerk telling me I have to pay it no matter what and I am not entitled to see a judge in the matter so I filled a grievance with the state.

I know nothing will become of that but still.... Working from home still are many of these clerks and so forth.

Little update to how bad Mass is. I got pulled over the other night by a state trooper about 1/2 mile from my house. For you guessed it my license was showing suspended and yet nothing had changed since last April.

Issued a summons great. Had to take a day off to goto Springfield RMV by bus yeah fun that was. Made online appointment went smooth got there they said huh nothing in your license shows it should be....
Supervisor can't figure out... Call to Boston and me mentioning Last Year Complaint Regulatory got things moving...

They had unsuspended but it went back to suspended for They would tell me nor would they give me a letter saying it was their fault so I now have to take another day off for court.

Trooper was decent about it but asked me a series of questions I was not comfortable with. I will be bringing that up in court if it gets that far. RMV I don't trust those clowns one bit, on top of that they would not allow me to read any of the info that Boston sent them.

I know I expect to deal with the same thing in 6 months to a year. Why I kinda wanted my day in in court but I know that that will not solve the issues.
