2A7A CODE

Hello guys, it might be my first post but be assured that i've made my homeworks before posting... I did search for the error code and dont find it... any clue... the car is sitting at my friend's garage.
Here is story.

I brought my car (2008 335xi 6mt sedan) to my friend's garage to have this list done:
oil pan gasket + oil sensor gasket
rear main seal
spec 3+ clutch and steel smfw
VRSF Downpipes
Oil housing gasket changed

He had some issues with the clutch... didnt know what to with the pilot bearing but i got this resolved with the answers in this forum...
I put all back together and than we try the car and the check engine comes up and than when we try to test ride it... the 3100 code or limp mode comes up... so no boost...
there is the 2A7A code that says :
DME: Camshaft position controller, exhaust, cold start

than the code 3100 and the other one 2ABC

so 3 codes in the startup... the first one is unkown to me
not ot forget i have the JB4 tune, i tried to put it to map 5... it didnt help...

at the end... the car had problems at iddle until the engine goes down... try to start it up... still ruff iddle and than goes down... we entered the car in the garage again by giving it gaz for not the engine dies... A smell of rotten eggs was there... Like if it was only turning on 2 pistons...

any infos on that...

the closest i saw was the 2a8a code saying the vanos...

could it be that some oil dropped into the vanos while changing the oil gasket housing?

or just a vaccum or a sensor that was forgotten?...

let me know...
Will ask my friend to clean the vanos... it doenst hurt but hoping you guys could help

Vanos selonoids were cleaned and still giving the 2a7c code... plus the 3100 limp mode of course...

any ideas? I just found one discussion about this one... saying it could be the oil line plugged or the vanos filters... or the o ring in the oil filter or so many more options...

I was getting the 2a7a error forever. I had a leaking ofhg which I changed hoping that may resolve but it didnt. I did the obvious before that, swapped vanos, cleaned them, even replaced one. Nothing worked.

The issue was only on cold starts, I removed both camshaft sensors and swapped sides after thoroughly cleaning. So far now it's been 2 weeks with no 2a7a errror. Where as before oj cold starts it pretty much happened every morning. It required me to do 2 or 3 restarts and clears to get the car to run without the error.

You have more codes than I did but swapping the camsshaft sensors is pretty easy to tryou just to eliminate another item.

Also check that the flywheel was properly reconnected to the crank. If the position is incorrect, you'll get all kinds of codes.

I’m also have a VERY difficult time with this code!! I have had both vanos selenoid replaced and cam sensors and I STILL get this pesky error. ONIY in startup when it’s very cold. It does idle a bit rough too it seems. Very frustrating!!
