£100k Velar

Was in the dealer on Saturday, and there was a Velar say in there with a £100k list price. Caused me to double take!

It was a SVR, so possibly quite easy to get to, but it had never crossed my mind that a Velar could get THAT expensive.

Sorry for two OT JLR threads in two minutes

Well apparently you can get a FFRR for £180k so I guess it follows....

Love to see the finance quotes and whether the GFV is strong...

In truth though a top spec Velar, to my mind at least, has much more of a wow factor to it than the equivalents from the premium German brands. Plus that V8, whilst undoubtedly old fashioned has a sense of occasion to it that even the AMG V8s don’t quite match.

It’s a good job we all have options because to me a Velar is a tarted up Disco - I would take a diesel Disco 5 any day in preference, and if I wanted aV8 SUV it would wear an AMG badge (or FFRR)....or maybe a diesel V8 from Audi...

Yes, very much horses for courses and it’s good we have the choice that caters for different preferences.

Funny enough I was looking on auto trader for JLR was bored. Couldn’t believe the amount of stock over 100k especially on the RR. Some nuts like overfinch for 250k who buys these?? 5-6k a month lol

I think a rsq8 would have far more road presence at a fraction of the price.

Hard to link from autotrader app but this looks poor value as a eg

Agree. They only really shift SVR RRS at that kind of price.

Overfinch, imho, are just there for people with too much money and too little taste, albeit they are at least better than the Khan offerings

Velar is like a coupe against a Disco. RRS is the perfect compromise size I think.

Must admit that the Velar is the LR that appeals least to me, but I kind of get where it fits now.

Indeed - it is very true that the more the Germans have rivals and competition, we will all win

That's very odd. A new one would be £85k or so. I'm missing something!

Got to be a typo as a newer one further down the ad is newer, has less miles and is only 63k...

Unless that one has some special provenance in ownership....

I kinda ..... like .... Liberty Walk widebodied Mustangs. Well maybe not their bolt on approach but they look menacing!

This tastefully done Shelby version. No rivers, $16k of upgrades and bodywork. Pure filth, OMG.

They are very expensive once you start adding options, me and the missus have just been looking at the velar it didn't make sense with the spec we wanted so ended up with a RRS.

I agree. I've not driven a Velar, but every one I've sat in in a showroom has not felt as luxurious as the D5 HSE Luxury (specifically), RRS or FFRR.

It seems obvious to buy a RRS once the Velar price hits that territory.
