Cooling & High Performance Tire Package

Does anyone know the difference in tires from the standard "performance" rubber and the package's "high performance" rubber? I know on the M440i this package is the only way to get non run flats, but it looks like the M240i comes standard with non run flats.

Is the top speed still limited to ~130mph (instead of ~155mph) without this package?

I'm on the fence with this.
$2400 is not unreasonable for a set of aftermarket high performance tires and wheels. Aside from the speed delimiter, which is just coding I assume, does the package include physical, additional cooling hardware? Or is it just more coding to increase stock cooling capability?

I'm going to have two sets of wheels, summer and winter. I wish the wheel specs were a little more detailed in terms of offsets and bolt pattern, then I could shop aftermarket stuff to compare pricing. This is the downside of early adoption of new models, I know.

I might just add the High perf. package, get the cooling upgrades as a perk, and try and order a stock All season or Winter set through the dealer and not worry about specs. It would just need to be there on delivery in the middle of NE winter.

Not quite accurate, refer to these guides looking for "will add 840".

Can the top speed be increased via coding / aftermarket tune? 130mph is kinda bullish!t tbh…

I'm not aware of a way, at least not on my F22. Could be some computer magic I'm unaware of out there. But why not just order it with the right tires?

As long as you get tires with the right speed rating, you'll get option 840: "increased top speed limiter" included automatically. And you don't have to get this expensive wheel and cooling package to do this. It looks like as long as you're getting 19" wheels (standard on the M240i) there's a no-cost option to get performance tires instead of the run flats.

If this package is like M340i (and it should be) you get increased coolers and even larger brakes. The wheels and tires are worth it alone IMO and why I would spec it. Love those wheels. It will be interesting to see though if there is a second tire besides PS4S that gets spec'd depending on supply, like on M cars.
