Pumped to see that my store is getting a Thundernight on black vernasca M240 as our HEA car! Should begin production first week of October.

Pretty base but ours is setting at a relatively cheap $53.5. That's Supra money.

The horsepower on this is now pretty much the same as the Supra only with more space inside. More legroom, more headroom, seats recline back for more comfort and you can put the windows down without horrible turbulence sound in the rear that you get in the Supra when you put down the windows. While the Toyota looks great on the outside they sure did mess up on a lot of basic features in that car which they should have kept and left instead for the MR2 instead. I will most likely buy this new BMW M240 I but I sure hope it comes out of Mexico as good as it would out of Germany

Just a doubt, how come your HEA car is being produced on 1st week of October? Is that considered a HEA car?

I thought that HEA's would be the very first produced cars (even before the September the 2nd) or first ones built on Sept... but October? Can we consider it a HEA when it has passed 1 month since SoP ?

Just curious about that nomenclature.

My guess is that it'll start being produced before the required 2021/10/40 production date. It's already in 112 status (the status right before it goes into production) so it could really flip any day.

Thx for your answer.

So the car you'll get in your store that you consider a HEA car, will it be from the first batches of PRODUCTION ones (after 112 status changes). Right?

You consider it HEA, the first weeks of "production" units. Right? How long do you personally consider it HEA, I mean, "not perfect units". Very few weeks after entering production?

Curious because I'm gonna order mine and I really don't want to eat the units where everything is not seamless, that's why i want to know how long "final adjustments" that are done in production last, just couple of weeks or couple of months haha

Thanks in advance

HEA cars are the first unit a dealer gets of a new model. They're modified by a regional rep and for the most part, are not modifiable by the dealer/customer. Nothing wrong with these cars, just usually ordered a little wonky.

Every dealer just received their October allocations including the first batch of the G42. Those will go into production in October and are fully modifiable. These are not HEA vehicles.

Really interested in checking this out (and potentially the new RS3) early next year. I bought a new 21 M240 last year on a pretty good deal, and have put maybe 4K miles on it. Since I've shifted to permanent WFH status, I've really been debating on selling it (while the used car market is high) and picking up a new car early next year (hopefully, when prices are better.)

I have almost been able to convince myself that an upgrade to a loaded 230 would be a great 30th birthday present to me (psyched about the diff being offered on the 4cyl this go around). Shame about no manual variant. Perhaps (if prices come down) I will stay with the F chassis and purchase an M2C. Seems a shame to subject it to daily duties and condo parking lots however...

HEA in German stands for Handler-Erst-Ausstattung, or in English, Dealer First Equipment.

Typically, the first cars to be produced, and aimed to be used as dealer demos.

Expect to see the G42 M240i featured next year in C/D's annual Lightening Lap at VIR. The M5CS and X4M are also to be featured this year.

If you use the US Configurator on a 230i M Sport it shows as body colour until you tick off "Shadowline Package" then it turns black"

Just ticking the "Extended Shadowline Trim" does not, but it drops the Shadowline Headlights, which would be OK and is $500 less.

Thx CDN.. but I ordered both Shadowline options because I want the black kidney grilles, put those on my 2018 230i & looked great.

so guess I can't avoid that black trim piece? looks out of place to me & that someone just slapped it on trunk (bit cheesy??)

Extended Shadowline Trim gives you the grill, but drops headlights, and it's appears the spoiler, suggest some more time with the config tool if you can.

Thx CDN...

Forget it, Shadowline Pkg for $850 on M Sports 230i includes shadowline lights & Extended trim.. can't pick & choose so I want the other features and will live with the black trim piece on spoiler. BMW seems to be trying to make this look like a dressed up Honda Civic
