where to place front plate in US given ACC for m240i?
Hey all-- does anyone have a sense of where to place the front plate in US for the m240i, given the sensor for the active cruise control? Not sure where it'll fit.

I think I'm going to see how long I can go with no plate but order an adjustable tow hook mount for when the time comes

It'll definitely fit without interfering with that sensor. NA plates are not much taller than EU plates. Plus they would never not consider the North American market plates. The tow hook, however, looks like a good option for those who like that look and want to mount it that way (I'm considering it now lol)

I always leave my front plate off, even in CA. I've been driving my cars for 23 years with no front plate, have been pulled over numerous times over the years and never been told to put one on. So I don't bother installing it. I DO leave the plate under my passenger seat along with the bracket in case the need ever arises to have to quickly install on it on the side of the road if I ever do encounter that one officer who wants to give me a bad day. I'm sure the front plate bracket will come with the car much like all vehicles in states that require the front plate. If you don't want the dealer installing it, just let them know, they have you sign a disclosure form and bob's your uncle.

So my car is slated to arrive 11/13 and want to get a tow hook bracket ordered. Anyone have any idea if the thread size is the same as the g20 m340?

If you're in California you shouldn't need a front bracket. You can place your license plate on your dash as long as it's visible.
I was pulled over for not having my front license plate visible. The officer just told me to place it on my dash so that it's visible. I haven't had an issue since and I've pass cops everyday. |

If I needed this I would use it. Prefer this to the 'offset' look. That looks good overall.

ugh, if possible don't drill holes in your bumper... I despise front plates on sports cars

I've done similar in Virginia. Though, I have not had conversations with an officers, I have never been stopped or ticketed, and I researched the relevant law; "...must be attached to the front of the car." I consider the front windscreen the front of the car, and I attached it on the inside with a small EZ Pass "fastener" meeting the front and attached portions of the law.
