my car has been sitting in the "scheduled for production" status for several weeks now. just curious to hear from others who have recently ordered the car how long it is taking to move from this status and to start of production.

I'm amazed, but good luck guys!

my signed contract & deposit in S. Carolina was Sept 9, Spoke to dealer rep & manager yesterday and no 2 series buildable allocation yet from them. Not sure how these allocations work. They also haven't even received word of their initial G42 that is not customizable

thanks! hang in there as hopefully yours will start moving soon too!

I'm thinking since these cars are being built in Mexico it shouldn't take quite so long for them to get here as when they come from Germany. anyone happen to know if that is indeed the case?

Honestly it's about the same all things considered, since they still have to ship via boat. I've been following 3 series threads and from what I can ascertain the wait is not much different.

Most dealers around me (Chicago area) have been estimating 2-3 months which isn't bad considering the state of this world atm

G42 M240ix

Order placed 9/2. M240ix, Portimao Blue, with basically everything. Sales manager said “week 43”. Got Production Number on 9/3, which showed car as “order accepted” with everything in the order showing up. On 9/24, status changed to “scheduled for production” and satellite radio changed to “Satellite Radio Removal” and “Satellite radio preparation”. On 9/27 showed only “Satellite radio preparation”. On 9/28, changed back to original “SiriusXM with 360L + 1 year”.
Today status changed to “production begins”. Configuration still shows everything as ordered. Got the VIN but it’s been too early for any of the VIN decode sites to find it.

that is really interesting this keeps changing on your car and gives me some hope mine will change too. however my car entered production a little over a week ago but the status of satellite radio hasn't changed as it continues to say "satellite radio preparation."

status update: my car now says it is "entering the assembly line" but still no change in the satellite radio as it still says "satellite radio preparation" under standard features on the bmw tracking website.

Crazy, mine went in after yours on 10-9 and I want to say about 3 days later it went to final assembly. This is where it's been for the last 2 days.

Satellite radio always Said satellite radio preparation. I don't really care for it as I'm always using spotify so if that stays out and I get a little discount for some parts I'll be happy

Am I the only one who was crazy enough to spec Thundernight/Tacora?

idontsave I actually really like that combo together! The colors compliment each other very nicely, especially with the red calipers.

I'm going with oyster for with the thundernight metallic.. fingers are crossed I like the combo as much in real life as I do on the configurator!

I wanted the thungernight and cognac but wife wasn't feeling it. She never complains that I spend so much time and money on hobbies that I let her have this one and did black, shadowline, black wheels and cognac interior with red calipers.

That is a brave combo! If I didn't take the dealer-ordered car I was leaning towards Thundernight and Oyster. I'm very interested to see pics of your car when you get it.

My turn again, switched my order Oct 22 to M240i after signing build order for 230i w/M sports Sept 9. I'm first in queue at my new dealership for M240i once they receive a M240 allocation

Build: Portimao Blue w/Cranberra Beige SensaTec

* Premium Pkg, Shadowline, Black Gloss trim & HK Audio
Also Bi-color 797M wheels with Perf. non-run flat tires

Now the wait begins yet again...
