I noticed that too and hope that it is a mistake as one could lease a fully loaded M3/4 for less than that. I hope the residual rates are better on this car than the outgoing 2 series coupe.

Can't see any reason not to hold out for an M2 at that bs lease rate

Wow these are some really great option packages for a non-M. It's going to be difficult to spring for the M--suppose that's why they are differentiating them further than traditionally. Really is a shame there won't be a manual.

I don't think it is. It's an impressive product that is easy to maintain. It's not like BMWs leather is nice. It sucks. Nappa and Dakota both require constant care to keep from cracking and wearing. I am guessing Vernasca isn't much better? Leather has never been BMWs strong suit.

My only other issue with the car is that gauge pod. I am really not a fan of it. I had a loaner F44 for a month and never got used to it. It's very busy, cluttered, and doesn't offer enough customizability given it is all digital. I would pay for traditional gauges as an option.

Strange you talk about the cluster as in Canada the digital gauges are optional.

PS: Merino leather is actually very nice.

Every time I see this I am thankful that the 2 series appears to be the real heir to the E46 throne.

I chose SensaTec for my Z4 after 24 years with leather in 5 different SLs. VERY happy. No regrets. Highly recommend.

Builder shows that the gauge cluster comes as a separate option or as part of the premium package. Shame they tie the better infotainment screen and headlights to it though.

The Dakota Red in my F22 was a nightmare to maintain to help limit it from wearing and cracking. Car was 18 months old with 20k miles on it when i got it and the outer bolster on the drivers backrest had a crack

I loved the colour with mineral grey outside but i would just do black sensatec the next time. If they had a dark brown sensatec I'd be tempted but that's as far as I'd go. I would choose cloth 100% of the time if it was available.

Nuluxe is the best imitation leather.

Regardless, LOL @ get a luxury car with fake materials. Call me old fashioned but nothing will replace the feel and smell of organic materials like leather, wood, metal, etc. I’m not about to spend all that coin to sit on plastic seats because the automakers wants to cut costs.

Anyone have any pics of the G42's "Illuminated M Trim"? The option in the configurator looks pretty bad but I think it's a rendering fault if its just //M lighting.

Looks like with every single option checked it comes to around 59k. I wonder if the M2 is going to be priced under 60.

I actually placed my order for the 2022 M240i back in July as soon as BMW Canada gave us the ordering guide. Our configurator was live before we even got the retail order guide.

This is my build:
53CM - 2022 BMW M240i xDrive $56,950.00
C56 - Thundernight Metallic $895.00
ZMB - Premium Essential Package $2,500.00
2VF - Adaptive M Suspension $750.00
43A - M Highlighters, Illuminated $250.00
552 - Adaptive Full LED Headlights $500.00
5DF - Active Cruise with Stop and Go $1,000.00
6NW - Wireless Charging w/Extended Bluetooth and USB $350.00
6U3 - BMW Live Cockpit Professional $1,000.00
KHSW - Black Perforated Sensatec $0.00
TOTAL MSRP $64,195.00

Cool thing for me is my lease will be 1% of MSRP so $641.95 payments.

Couple notes: i am not a fan of the HUD and don't care about H/K so no need for enhanced package for me. I wasn't even going to to order essential package but since the car goes to our stores pre-owned department after my employee lease then wanted that package on it. I was going to get vernasca leather with blue stitching for $1500 more and also add M seat belts for $400. Since they made me add essential package i decides to remove those two options and just get black sensatec.
I love the cerium grey grill that matches the mirrors and wheels so i did not want the M sport pro package. Also i drive in the winter and want the A/S tire over the performance tires, since i only have a 1 year lease i do not want to buy winter wheels. Also think the blue brakes work better with the purple paint over the red brakes. 360 camera is not necessary for me.
I might add the aluminum trim over black gloss and maybe the m seat belts back in before production starts but idk.

These cars started production in August BMW won't give us any allocations until a October production. This makes me think that they are building HEA spec cars for two months before customers can place their factory orders.

Another thing i noticed on the configurator is that when you add M sport Pro package it seems to give it extra fender lips for the wider wheels. ( see my last two pics) Similar to the i4 M50 option. That would be cool, maybe ill do that on my second M240i.

i am excited. Will prob be a November delivery for me

TBH I just think that the car lacks any personality. The original 2er has significant personality (and was offered in manual). Maybe I'm just biased because I own one.

Nothing wrong with that, people like what they like. The M235i is a good looking car.

I'm expecting (hoping) the G42 M240 to have a lot of presence in person with the fender flares, power dome, and shoulder line. Will that translate into personality? Hard to know until I see it in person, but I think it will in my eyes.

You're right and hopefully it will. Although it does have some pretty large shoes to fill.

no lie, when i had my f32 i was about -this close- to setting up LEDs in the grill with the 3 M colors.

the reason I didnt was because it is illegal where I am to have emergency service vehicle colored lights on your car.

also, fwiw, i was also only going to do it as like a joke for how BMW is putting M branding everywhere on cars. like waaaay overabundance lighting for ///

I really think Audi screwed that up with the S-lines

You can see it a bit better in the YT video below. I think both models demoed have this option. From what I heard, if you do not option the ///M lighting, you still get lighting but it's synced with the ambient color lighting instead, which is better IMO.

Yeah the M color lighting looks like the colors are always there but then they must light up at night or something. I'm mixed on that look and probably need to see a better video of the illumination, or see it in person.
