I would like the option of red calipers too but doesn't look like that is going to happen based on the online configurator.

interesting detail; yet on base 230i w/M sports and Shadowline extended we can select blue or Red calipers. I prefer blue since my body color will be blue if I purchase this vehicle

Looks like you can only get red calipers on the 230i. Lame.

incorrect, with M sports & enhanced Shadowline you can select Blue calipers which I did in my build. Try it yourself

You’re misunderstanding. The thread is on the difference between the 230i and M240i, which is seemingly only available in blue.

Seems worth asking a store and, if necessary, asking store to ask BMW NA.

I can ask my regional rep but he'll tell me if it's not on the ordering guide, then it is what it is.

Right now it's only available on the 230 with either shadowline package or dynamic handling. Maybe they'll add them down the line.

I've got good news

In the (web) configuration of my country, the red caliper is not shown as an extra , however when i went to the dealer, they had the option of red calipers.

So seems you should give it a try in your dealer.

let me ask folks... on new Blue 230i you think the blue or red calipers will look better??

also I plan on the 19" 797 Style bi-color wheels and not 100% black wheels

Red will match your taillight and will give nice contrast to the body color

i like the red calipers; but I think the blue will look better with the exterior blue. This way I don't introduce a new color and look too busy, most of the car I built online with M Sports pkg is exterior Blue & black accents

Bad news, no red calipers.

BMW HQ response:
The offer structure behind the caliper color is a strategic product one. Blue is the standard caliper color on the MPA (M240) and thus the “highest” and “sportiest” offer. Therefore it is linked to MSP on the base model.

There is centrally no red caliper offered on the MPA (M240).

No idea why your not getting a choice, UK spec is red or blue by choice. Red by default then you can change to blue in the option menu free of charge

ZDH (Dynamic Handling Package) or ZHO (Shadowline Package) is required to even get 2NH (M Sport Brakes) on the 230i, with or without ZMP (M Sport Package). Strategic explains 2NH being standard on the M240i. No M240i caliper choice between 3M1 (blue) and 3M2 (red) just seems illogical to me. Wondering if something got lost in translation.

That's what I'm thinking too. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear in a couple months that it got sorted and red is now available on M240i.

I'm waiting for the rear wheel M240i and hopefully by that time, red calipers will be available
