G42 dealer allocations and pricing?

For you who are in contact with a dealer to order a G42 or already ordered one:

What is your experience with the time to get an allocation and to what cost in this era of car shortages?
Msrp, markups, discounts?

I ordered the car on September 13th dealership in North Jersey had 3 allocation slots. The 1st one the GM built for the dealership The 2nd one somebody bought before me And I got the 3rd one
I paid MSRP
It was a penske owned BMW dealership and I heard they were not allowed to sell over MSRP when I was overhearing a salesman with somebody else

same here in S. Carolina at MSRP early Sept. No G42 allocation for them yet but I am first in Queue at dealership. But now concerned about potentially missing out in SiriusXM or Heads up Display. Both of which I definitely want so not sure what to do

In these situations I try to go with "Patience is a Virtue", good luck.

I'm in Southern California and ordered at MSRP on September 19th.

No word yet on allocation as I've asked my salesman and he kind of brushed over it and said that he'll be in touch.

My dealer received a HEA car and 2 modifiable allocations for October.

Neither sold above MSRP...rather a small discount. I hope to get at least 2 more for November as I have a few guys waiting.

I have an appointment with my local dealer this Saturday. They weren't forthcoming with details on allocations, but they seemed optimistic stating the entire process shouldn't take more than 6 to 8 weeks.

That said, I'm thinking a bit more realistically. I would imagine we're talking at least Christmas, and that's if they actually have configurable allocations. Fingers crossed!

I spoke with reps of two New Hampshire dealerships recently and they both said they had allocation slots available at MSRP. I am holding off on ordering for now.

Im here in Boston. My dealer had 2 allocations. One for the floor and I got the second. It looks that once the first wave of allocation is used up, there is going to be option cuts coming for the next round of allocation. It looking like SeriusXM is being pulled and other secondary "standard" options. I was told that if I had missed this allocation, which will be delivered hopefully mid Dec, I would be waiting possibly until April '22 or later to get the car.

Good to hear about the options. I was thinking to myself how could they pull features off a new release? It needs a proper start.

I'm happy I got my order in. Having to wait that long and miss out on options would be rough

April…ouch. That could be me I guess since I’m finalizing my order today. My CA hasn’t told me yet if he has managed to secure an allocation or not. Most likely not is my guess… Luckily I own my F80 so no real rush to meet lease deadlines etc. but still, once you put your order in waiting is painful

I was planning to wait until end of October but they told me the production issues so I bit the bullet. I am coming from a Forté lease so this can’t come sooner. I’m hoping that this issue will be short lived. But I’ve seen pads and rotors for a 7 take 6 weeks to arrive so we will see..

I ordered September 8th from Century BMW in Greenville, SC. I added remote engine start and the premium package, and was offered a few dollars shy of $1800 discount off MSRP. I feel pretty lucky after seeing what most people are being offered from dealers.

How did that negotiation go? Did you offer lower than $1800 off MSRP or did you just ask them what they could do?

honestly I asked 2 area dealers about placing an order. BMW of Asheville offered me $500 off MSRP and Century offered nearly $1800 off which I was surprised at the discount considering today's market and ordering a car that hasn't even been released yet. Typically internet sales departments operate at or near the "rock bottom" price a dealer is going to offer these days. I did not want to delay the process and try to haggle the price, so I pulled the trigger.

I'm jealous, I heard all BMW dealers are selling at MSRP due to limited supply

Pretty similar to my strategy. I usually go into a dealership get the first quote then call 1-2 other dealerships & see if they can beat the previous quote.

I go around in a circle until one of them goes "I don't know how they can go that low" then I pull the trigger

That's what I have going right now - I have several on the line that I've made my interest known. (I still need to drive one though before I drop $50k on this trophy wife....)

My dealer had 2- allocations, the first is an HEA M240 (this is the car I'm getting), and the 2nd is a 230. I dealt directly with the same CA we've dealt with in the past, paying
$500 below MSRP. I tried the other dealer in the area and they don't have any open allocations either and that's why I took my car, plus I liked the color combo.

Oh wow. Where are you located. Sounds like most of us did a September order and got an allocation.
