Well eff. You've dashed my hopes here. I do not want to paint it. Expensive and likely won't last. Thank you for the info though.

Im expecting it to last forever tbh, the shop i use (many times with the E46) is excellent and all his work has never faulted,

no problem

It's just harder to repaint a painted plastic surface. It is possible to get a good thorough job but especially an area that takes small pebbles regularly.... It's not common to get have the same durability that factory paint does. Not arguing just personally would have preferred a reversible and more cost effective wrap.

Please post photos if you do get anything done. You have good taste and do good work.

PPF Sills and Rear Wheel Arches

My car (Black Sapphire Metallic) is not due till July/August and I was wondering if you plan to apply PPF on to the sills and the rear wheel arches? I have not seen a car in person yet and wondered how far out the arches are? I have identified a company that supplies both sets for DIY application. I would appreciate your thoughts.

My previous car (GR Yaris) had flared arches and I applied PPF to them and it did a good job of protecting the area.

I only covered the rockers as I was catching them getting out of the car, the door handle recesses and “bumper ledge” at the boot area.

Haven’t noticed any excessive dirt gathering on the flared parts and didn’t want to PPF them as edges of the PPF will gather dirt and possibly look worse as a result. (My car is black too)

In my short lived and limited exprience using the car, it feels very similar to how my E46 felt, with throttle responiveness and the initial umph it has, this pleases me immensely as that was one of the the best bit of my car, but this thing is so much more civilised, sound and ride quality, the E46 was a bit of a monster.

So far the sound feels quite tame tbh as im used to having my ears rattled.

I can't wait to try this thing WOT as it should be even more intense
