that would seem to make sense, so that the factories can start tooling up for any tweaks and build inventory for the 2023 which usually start hitting dealerships in the fall

For the 22MY, yes. I got this file from the G20 forums and its not uncommon for the OEM to adjust those dates back and forth. I added it more for reference to the manufacturing locations of each model but not for the accuracy of SOP/EOP

You are correct. Now, the way they classify MY is unique for different markets. In some countries, 22MY is only built in 22 whereas in US, you could have 22MY anytime from the fall of 2021. The SOP/EOP dates also change depending on the OEM and their sales planning for a certain model and MY compliance with the regulatory agencies.

With that said, the BMW website is pretty wonky. After I watched my car get transported across the Gulf of Mexico to Galveston, the car went back to "At the Port" status. I called BMW Genius and they confirmed that the car would be delivered to my dealership in Austin on Sunday the 30th.
Ok...so despite being promised my car would delivered to the dealership on the 30th, it turns out my car was not picked up at the port until the 31st. And the car is expected to arrive at the dealership today.

This explains why the website said "At the port" until yesterday when it finally switched to "In transit" status.

Edit (5 minutes later): My car has finally arrived at the dealership! Now, I just need to complete the sale of my current vehicle and then I can get my new car!

That is fairly common, the problem is BMW has only one tag for At the Port, when in fact you have two ports, port of departure and port of arrival. Like yours, mine left the San Luis Potosi port showing in transit. After a few days it showed "At the Port" again, being factually correct as it arrived at the 2nd Port. Unfortunately BMW truncates those steps which makes it confusing.

Do all the cars shipping out of Mexico leave from the same port? Or is there a west coast port for cars shipping to California?

AFAIK BMW uses Port Lazaro Cardenas for west coast.

Also under this impression! I’ve been trying to find when boats might be leaving there with my car, no luck so far.

Have others on this forum noticed that the BMW Genius tracking does not align with actual production codes? My vehicle is at "Awaiting carrier assignment" but the CA informs me the last completed step is production code 165 "In Transit - Plant of Manufacture to Port of Departure". Then these production codes are following 165:

168: Manufacturer Stock
170: Vehicle Planned for workshop
172: Vehicle Scheduled for workshop

Are these applicable to vehicles manufactured out of Mexico?

In my case, the vehicle still showed "Ready for transport" while in 165 status.

It changed to "Awaiting carrier assignment" and to "In transit" in a matter of minutes as the car was loaded onto the ship.

Vessel Honor is due to arrive in Altamira today so I am guessing it should get loaded onto that ship incase it wasnt loaded onto Tosca which left Altamira earlier today.

How long did yours take to go from "Ready for Transport" to actually being loaded on a ship? I have been tracking the Tosca and Honor ships with hope that my vehicle is on one of those two ships. Thinking that BMW Genius is behind in updating their tracking status.

It took 13 days for yours to move from Ready for Transport to Awaiting Carrier Assignment. If that same time applies with my vehicle, it would be 2//13/22 to complete Awaiting Carrier Assignment. That time will miss boarding the Tosca and Honor ship. The next ship leaving Altamira is the Arc Integrity on 2/24/22!

Hey what website are folks using to determine what boats are BMW boats, and their status in connection with the applicable ports?

Your CA can tell you what boat your car is on, then you can use a website like https://www.vesselfinder.com to track the position of the ship.
