I just pray I never have to deal with leaking gaskets, cracked glass, or a failed open/close motor.

The removal of the side tray/cubbie makes no sense
If your crazy enough, you can cut a hole to add the side tray. Use the template posted much earlier in this thread.

I have a 2022, so I fortunately have it from the factory.

The moonroof hate is wild to me. It makes the interior of any coupe feel so much less cramped as it lets light in. I crack it open almost all year (and I live in Chicago haha) for both more light and of course air.

Yes it adds some weight in the worst spot, but unless you're competitively tracking it, it's negligible. If I really cared about weight I would stop bodybuilding and go on a hard cut instead.

For me it was more about head room and the fact I rarely used the moonroof in my past vehicles.

At my current seating position, my head is about 2” from the roof. I’d imagine with the moonroof, my head would be touching the glass.

I don't know about the current 230 but on the 240 there is quite a bit of vertical seat travel available with the power seat. I am 6' tall and I run the seat almost all the way down. I then have several inches of headroom with the sun/moon roof.

This was a factor when I bought the M240i. Compared to the Genesis G70 that I traded for the 240, there was night and day difference in driver ergonomics between the two cars: Headroom, driving position, entry/exit, etc. On the Genesis, I had to lean the seat back in order to have the headroom I needed. This put pressure on my back while driving and it also made the car hard to get in and out of. I don't have to do this with the 240: The sitting position is much more upright - the way it should be - and I have headroom.

Anyone here had the itch to upgrade your m240i after +1 year? Just curious how many of you guys kept the m240i, this will be my first “performance” car. Currently my daily is honda passport and I’ve own an Acura tsx before that. Cheers!

I was in the same boat as this was my first "performance" car. I can tell you the power is great for everyday but you get used to it fast. Not many better cars out there for me that have the total package of the M240 though. Its a great everyday car.

It really is amazing how quickly you get used to the performance. Imagine a car that does zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds, and does the quarter mile in low 12s, high 11s stock. Now it doesn't even feel crazy fast to me

I’ve had the itch since before I took delivery, but the car is enjoyable & powerful enough completely stock where I do not want to risk my warranty for power that I would only use for highway fun.

Granted, this warranty anxiety is more so referring to a tune or anything that could result in an expensive warranty claim. If you’re just talking about an intake and down pipe etc, then go for it, I have the former and will get the latter this spring/summer.

This car is absolutely fantastic. I factory ordered it and am at 13 months of ownership with over 26,000 miles on it (it’s my daily driver). It’s been reliable for all 26,000 of those miles. Full exhaust, high flow downpipe, intake, JB4. The car is intoxicatingly fast and the best car I’ve ever owned. However within the next year I know I’ll be out of this car and most likely into an M550I. The B58 is a phenomenal engine but I need the noise of a V8.

Been there done that. You will need to do a full aftermarket exhaust on your 550i to get any noise from that V8. The 550i is also going to handle like a boat compared to your M240i even after installing M suspension components.

All good, the extra space will be nice for me as well, and I’m wanting something that’s more of a fast cruiser that still has some noise as the daily. The plan is to mod the 550 as much as I have the 240, from what I can hear in YouTube videos it sounds good enough for me along with the extra space and performance seems like a no brainer for my scenario! That all being said I absolutely recommend the 240 to anyone who asks, great car, the b58 is a monster and has reliability to boot.

Also I will be buying a used C7 corvette around the same time as the 550 to be the weekend fun car, so even if the 550i doesn’t fully scratch the itch, the C7 with headers and exhaust will I’m sure.
