It really was pain free. Biggest change for me was the font and model number in the dashboard. It was available in previous versions though that required a trip to the service department.

My car had it already on delivery in September, maybe some dealers do it before delivery day?

Vehicles manufactured more recently came with newer software versions. There are 4+ versions in circulation depending on your build date.

My build date was mid June, I'm thinking my dealer probably did it for me, as it looks like a 07/2022 release/version

I'm driving an 840i as a loaner until I collect my car & it got the software update notification today. Haven't installed it yet, but will when I drive to work tomorrow.

Mine has come up as due today. Let us know if there are any changes. Always reluctant to do updates incase things I like get removed

Biggest improvement is going to be with the Lane Departure intervention. Apparently it will no longer fight you when you try to pull back in after an overtake without indicating.

I’m hoping it allows me to turn it off and not have to disable it every time I start the car ?!?!

I think it maybe different in the US, in Europe & the UK, EU rules enforce it to be enabled by default at every 'key on'

Are you using bimmercode to get those gauges looking like that?

Interesting. Curious to see if there are any noteworthy changes.

We Americans are lucky enough to be able to shut it off and have it stay off. Other markets are forced to turn it off every time.

I can't say I really noticed any changes, but I'm sure some things improved behind the scenes.

However, it did reset everything I'd done with BimmerCode, so that was time consuming putting everything back.

Updates are cumulative, so the most notable changes are for those with early builds on the 07/2021 software version. Those cars are missing the M Performance instrument cluster and have overly aggressive lane departure intervention. Both issues were fixed in older updates that were used in manufacturing but not released as an OTA update.

Update went smoothly, but now I’m unable to send commands to my car via the My BMW app after updating. Everything just keeps failing to send.

Does the car status correctly show on the APP ? Did you close out the APP and restart it? I just got the notice my update is available but haven't performed it yet.
