I only had my car a week or two when a car pulled up beside me doing about 50mph with 3 or 4 guys about the same age as those in the video. The guys were literally hanging out the window giving me thumbs up and commenting on how cool the car was - I'm still waiting on the car full of gals to do the same, but it has only been a few months and I am a patient man............

The price difference between the 230i and M240i is only ~$5K when you add the Msport package, same wheels, and dynamic handling (to get the differential). $5K to go from a quick car to a fast car is worth it to most. The B58 is truly a monster. |

I don’t know man I had the 230i for 6 months and I love it very much but given the recent price increases, in the UK the M240i is the better bang for buck. Having had mine for just a week now the B58 really does make it worth it

It's stupid arguing on the internet but I really feel the 240 is kind of pointless. Either go cheap with the 230 like I did or go ahead and get the M2 for not much more than the 240.
People try to eliminate the middle man for a reason (240 being the middle man between a nice cheap 230 and a true M car). |

The M240 makes complete sense for those that want a fast, reliable, and affordable daily. |

Oh boy.....
I purposely chose the 230i M Sport over a year ago, but I wouldn't put down the 240i, with most coming with X drive plus an adaptive suspension. The M2 is very nice as well, both the F87 and G87. To tell someone else that they chose the wrong car is just not something I'd ever do. Everyone has a reason for making their choices. Some people think that 230 drivers bought their cars because they couldn't afford a 240. And some M2 drivers do the same to 240 drivers. To me, it's all nonsense. Buy what is right for you and be comfortable with it. Last edited by wb8164; 01-29-2024 at 06:07 PM.. |

Your last sentence fits perfectly for the 230i "fast, reliable, affordable daily". I'll still blow by you in my 20k cheaper 230 (paid 47k OTD w/ everything minus the diff I think). |

Your 230 will blow by a 240? Please explain. My 240 was $63K OTD btw, with everything except phone charger and M colored door cards. |

I don't want to hurt your feelings too much but the 230i looks better, is lighter by ~300-400lbs, and handles better (tighter wheelbase) than it's bigger more expensive bro.
Blow by was in reference to my driving style; I was shocked to get on the M2 forums and find out that plenty of owners have never had a speeding ticket. Why get that type of car if you always drive the limit? Once I put a proper tune on this 3500 lb capable daily, it'll be game over with this 4 banger. I also plan to get an M2 in a few years; again the M240 seems pointless. |

I don’t remember all of the cosmetic differences between the 230 and 240, but I do believe the 230 has painted side skirts, so yeah the 230 looks better in that respect and I’m jealous. None of what youre saying you do matters to me or most that just daily their car, so if you can out-do a 240 on a track against someone who uses the car as a daily, then congrats. I am referring only to the horsepower/torque that makes it a fast as hell daily. In a straight line you’d be toast. It sounds like you have a little buyers remorse here with your 230 purchase and trying to emphasize how great it is while bashing the 240, and hoping to eventually have a G87. |

Driving is rarely about straight line performance; if it was I'd just get a shite EV. And I'll never track anything, I'm not a hillbilly and hate people in general.
No remorse whatsoever on my purchase; I picked the smart, cheap light option, you picked the not really good at anything middle man. The 230i has no problem cruising at triple digits. |

Haaaa bottom of the barrel car that's still better than 90% of crap on public roads as we speak. I didn't buy an M2 cause I wasn't willing to shed 70k+ on a car right now.
The 230i is an inherently better value than the M240i, sorry. It also helps that I don't drive like a little beach like a lot of people with nicer cars. |
