Unhappy R.I.P. Metrolink train victims from Chatsworth crash

Title says it all.

My community was rocked on Friday. Today at church, there were very somber faces as there were some members who knew some of the victims. A very special prayer was said to those who had loved ones on the train.

One of the local churches here lost an associate pastor who was returning from South Carolina after going to his own mother's funeral. He was also a teacher at Oaks Christian High School in Thousand Oaks.

You all are in a better place. Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims' families as well as those who still have loved ones struggling to survive.

There is a community meeting tonight at Grace Community in Simi.

It is very sad what has happened.
Very well written OP.
Our prayers to their families. Maybe you can gather some members to do a drive/ fundraiser. I may not be able to go, but would be willing to donate to the cause.

I found out that one of my new direct reports was on the train. He survived but he was banged up very bad.

ruined so many people's lives...

it goes to say that everyone else that texts while driving, they should think twice.

I used to type on my work BlackBerry ALL the time while driving because the culture at work was to respond ASAP, especially when there were issues with the production systems. Now, I don't do any of that, in remembrance of these poor victims.
