The BMW Gallery in Calgary also got an HEA car this morning in BG, don't know anything else about the spec yet.

Calgary HEA. It’s wide and looks good. Not a fan of the rear but I don’t have to see it. Seats were great.

Don’t you wish you could order cars directly from the manufacturer and bypass the dealer?

In todays market, i know i do. There are no real deals to be had just the dealer BS and markups/fees that they tak on. I have bought a number of different brands/cars over my lifetime and have never had an good buying experience. Best i hope for is that things go "OK" overall

Not sure if there's a difficult time getting these, but just a heads up that I turned down a BG ZF8 speed that's loaded minus the carbon buckets. It's an HEA car and available now at Grand River BMW.

Unfortunately it lost the tire lotto.

Jesus, like every dealer seems to have 1 available now. My two local dealers each have a TR available.

May production for late June / early July deliveries are available. dealer was even willing to negociate the price a bit. Apparently they had lots of cancellations.

Kind of doesn't surprise me with the crap financing in Canada...

Just checked out a black M2. Looks really good, but I don't like how you don't see the carbon roof. Lots of PPF required...

Edmonton BMW got their HEAs. A BG 6MT sold and an unsold TR 8AT. Planning to stop by Thursday after work to check them out if still not delivered.

Visited Gallery BMW in Calgary last weekend. Saw a BG M2 in stock. Have to admit BG looks much better in person. I was about to change my build to BG until I drove out of the parking lot and saw a Honda Odyssey in almost the exact same colour. Then I started noticing Chevs, Hyundai’s, and others in very similar colours. Going to stick with TR. It’s not the perfect colour, but less common.

Btw, my build date is May 15. I was supposedly #5 on the waiting list between the two Calgary dealers (owned by the same company, Dilwari). Apparently not high enough to have been offered a HEA.

Canbec and Park avenue each have a red one. Canbec also has a black one that is sold but not delivered yet. All HEA specs obviously. EDIT: Blainville has a black one and a blue one...might be worth the drive to check it out in person Also BMW Laval has a red one.

I'm probably waiting until next summer. An order right now would be delivered towards the end of summer. Might as well wait until next April/May. Fingers crossed there are some better colors. Haven't seen BG or blue in person yet though.

Also, are these coming up from Mexico by rail or truck?
Just saw the car on the Hensen Tracking and the ETA to the Toronto Deakership is April 17th.

So from the time the My BMW site indicated “In Transit”, it took 18 days to get to the delearship, figure 3 days to process and deliver the vehicle, so therefore it took a total of 21 days.

Hope this help with the expectations.

Just wondering what quasi “ADM” are getting across Canada. I have yet to get the final pricing on my M2, but recently I did get a quote on a i4 M50. With the only two Calgary dealers owned by the same company, the lack of competition shows in the price. The PDI is $3995, plus they try to add on useless items like an anti-theft something. I also detest the fact that ceramic coating and PPf is automatically added on without asking. Apparently the coating and PPf can be removed but not sure.

I used to buy exclusively BMW’s from 2002 to 2013 (bought 5 new cars), and since then had bought 4 Tesla’s. Now the M2 is my first non-Tesla. I had forgotten how crappy of an experience it is to buy from a conventional dealer.

Anyone else having to deal with this?

Is this Gallery or Calgary? Not that it makes much difference since they are part of the same auto group.

The last 2 items might be a deal breaker. I do not want any kind of partial PPF. They sometimes age extremely poorly and I plan to keep the car for decades. I could be convinced of the ceramic coat however, I am considering getting the roof painted black (getting sunroof), the lower part of the front grill painted to body matched, and possibly a different rear spoiler. Not sure what implication having ceramic prior would do.

Seems to be an Alberta thing. Edmonton BMW has similar dealer compulsory addons.

Pisses me off.

This trash bothers me.
I got mine release day April 8
Only fees were;
76500- Base car cost
HEA - 8100
Paint- 895
Frieght- 2997.00
Admin- 595
air tax/tire tax- 116.00

Plus I got a discount.

My car does have the "m driver's package" but it looks like some retailers are not being charged if they fight it as it wasn't included on the product bulletin. (2495.00)

So I was out the door before fees; 85000~
Total before tax; 88000~

Not sharing specifics for obvious reasons, but fuck them. So greedy.

As someone who used to work in the industry, I would flip my shit seeing the trash they are pushing on you. I know several people at Gallary, happy to help if need be, but if you signed already you're SOL.

I guess also the real price for Freight and PDI will be around maybe 1500$ or 2000$ , meaning half they are trying to charge ?
also some places charge 150$ for full tank gas at delivery, but with the 52 L tank on these toys, its like maybe max 70-80$ charge to fill up the tank with 91 premium ...

1195 was the last rate I recall from my past experience.
Likely ~1350-1400 is what it is. That is a charge from BMW AG & CAN to get it to the dealership. The dealership will then have to PDI the car once it arrives, typically 1-2 hours of work max. So 120-240 internal cost.

So when you see 3995 for freight and PDI it's basically a middle finger to the customer. Fraud as far as I am concerned, "theft with a smile." That's 2k+ in profit is hidden as a Manufacturer fee.
Don't believe me? Cross-shop several other dealerships that have different ownership. You'll see some split the fee; Freight, and another fee for PDI.
Anything beyond the following is a scam/or money grab;
Vehicle cost
Manufacturer vehicle options
Admin fee ( while I don't agree with this, it's industry standard)
frieght and PDI- costs outlined above. Beyond 2.5k its a money grab, flat-out extortion IMO.
Provincial/Fed taxes; HST,GST,PST, Tire recycling fee, air tax, licensing, PPSA/lender fees ( if applicable)

Everything is "optional" and you may use your discretion. Security etching, nitrogen, ceramic ( usually not done right/correctly), rust proofing, all are just straight-up overpriced and do not do what they say they do.
They have 7% in gross profit, all before their admin, PDI and any kick back from their lenders.

As for fuel costs, yeah its a joke. I have filled up 2x since I've had this car, 60-70$ max, but I also only see 350-400km of range. Tank is tiny.

I was wondering the profit margin for dealers. Now knowing it is approx 7% of MSRP, makes it easier to discuss when negotiating.
