There is one type of variable turbo, and Porsche uses it. It’s called variable geometry, so it varies the size of the impeller depending on load and RPM, either to give better response, or more flow (low/top end). There is turbo technology to vary a twinport to a single port depending on load and RPM as well. As far as I know this technology is not employed in any gas engine. BMW uses a single port turbo for the S58 (and employs 2 of them), and a twinport turbo for the B58 (and employs 1 of them). They have nothing variable about them. Saying a turbo is “variable scroll”, to me, sounds like variable geometry. I didn’t watch the video to see what else he doesn’t know but is saying out loud because no one cares. Your link doesn’t talk about variability. |

Why did he even leave this video up?
It's 2023 and a guy doing YouTube channel can't buy a decent camera? An iPhone with an eBay selfie stick would do better |

FYI, this specific G87 was on static display along with the XM at a press event BMW was holding. The press have been driving the new 7 and i7. |

Hard for me to legitimize a dude who on one hand fetishes over certain car color combos while on other struggles with basic kirkland Costco wardrobe color coordination.
His reviews are repetitive and boring. Wait for the m2 CS. It's gonna be bonkers.

Welcome to the internet sir. Around here boomer is less a demographic term and more of a derogatory term. (Sorry, not sorry, actual boomers)

I'm usually a Motoman fan, but this video really felt like it was scripted by BMW PR. Some of the same talking points hit on by TFLnow that sound more like marketing than honest impressions.
