BMW Driver Training
Got an invitation from Trivett to do the BMW Driver Training day scheduled for 16th Feb and grabbed it, is at a nice discount to cost price so can try out some torque. Another day off work besides Luffy's day but couldn't resist and will be great to compare the two I guess
******************************************* VIP Invitation - BMW Driver Training Experience the thrill and excitement of driving the latest BMW vehicles on a racetrack whilst learning valuable driving skills from our highly trained instructors, led by Chief Instructor, LeMans 24hr and Bathurst winner, Geoff Brabham at our Trivett Classic Driver Training Day. Session 1: 8.30am-1.30pm Session 2: 12.00pm-5pm Venue: Eastern Creek, Sydney NSW Participation Cost: $390 incl GST^ (Normally $700) The course will be based on the entry level BMW Driver Training-Advanced Training II. Advanced Training II is an exciting course designed to provide a solid foundation for performance driving. This half-day course, in both BMW 1 and 3 Series and the high performance BMW V8 M3, simulates a number of different situations that may be encountered at touring speeds, including slalom, motorkhana, ideal lines and emergency braking. Course content will include: • Visually assisted lecture on safe driving techniques. • Steering technique and seating position. • Observation and awareness skills. • Vehicle dynamics including braking exercises on wet tarmac-difference in stopping distances and manoeuvrability between ABS and non ABS. • Ideal cornering lines. • Paced circuit laps. • And at the end of the day all participants will be taken on a hot lap of the circuit by one of our instructors. Guaranteed to finish the day ! The day will commence with a theory presentation and safety briefing. It is recommended that participants dress appropriately (clothing and footwear) to ensure optimum comfort on the track and in variable outdoor conditions. Work boots, hiking shoes and shoes with a high heel or wide sole are not recommended. Food and beverages will be provided throughout the day together with lunch. A debriefing session will take place at the conclusion of each session. Generally, poor weather conditions will not interfere with the day’s training and the course will continue to run unless participants are advised otherwise

was told the sessions are full but rechecked online and saw the afternoon session has some spots though might not have been updated(I have taken the morning slot). The morning one is booked out and has a wait list, could be the other one too. Are you interested? Call me and I can try refer if available. The catch if you're on P"s is you will not get to pull the M3

While its their entry level course & a tad expensive they run a great day and you'll be sure to learn a lot. The hot laps in the M3's are a great conclusion to the day too.

Did a similar thing with Benz. No issues with P's. Granted there was no M3, but an SLK350 and C300CDI aren't cheap either. No M3 is a deal-breaker - if its vehicle restrictions they're worried about then I don't get it. It's on a track for chrisssssaaakeeee!!! Road rules need not apply.

Just registered!
Spot isn't confirmed until payment sent through... $390 is a bit expensive, but if I get to take a few bimmers for a spin on a track (including an M3) then I'm sure it should be worth it |

Even then anyones car (that isn't yours) is twice as fun as your own car on the track lol. Hoping there's an N54 thrown in there and M3 sounds so exciting! Although it's slower than Jeef's car which I've already been in, it's at home on a track where I'm sure it will be an absolute weapon. Quote:
Some other girl answered the phone and she didn't offer to take my credit card details but emailed me the forms and everything etc. |

lol true, you don't have to worry about your own car getting thrashed. I think I read it on the BMW website. Either way should be good to see how a 123d pulls on a track and how a 323i stretches out its I6. And M3... grrr..

in the invitation they sent out said that all attendees must have a full license, when called and checked about P"s she said was fine with it but said the cars would be restricted. Who knows, maybe they would let you drive a M3 on the day if willing take a small punt on it

Trivett are a bunch of fucking assholes. I'm not putting my hard-earned into this event if it is run by them.
I don't see how this is for Trivett customers only, since BMWAUS runs these days. I'm gonna check my email for an invite now.

Yep, I've got an invitation from Trivett. I never bought anything off them though so they must have my details on file from when I told them to sod off with their ridiculous prices.
My dad should've gotten one too, so that gives me two invites.

lol, yeh it is run by BMW aus but this 'subsidised' course is for like trivett to build relationships and stuff.
per the BMW site the course is usually $900 or something and includes a 123d, 125i coupe and 325i sedan. and 24 participants. Whilst the trivett email says the course will include experiencing the latest bmw vehicles such as 1series, 3series and M3, this could be interpreted to mean that the 'M3' experience is just the hot lap at the end. Hopefully the afternoon session to which I've registered is not full, so there's more time per person per car. |
