Come on man, just because someone has an F87 doesn’t mean they are incapable of liking the G87.

Say what you want man, I’m not here to convince you. I just think it’s silly to assume someone can’t like something just because they have the previous model. They’re invested in the brand already, the opposite seems logical.

If anything I would argue that fans of the G87 are too sensitive to any criticism. For many, it’s their first ‘M’ and they’re defensive of their purchase (only natural). Be happy with your purchase, it’s still a great car. Just accept not everyone thinks it’s a clear upgrade over last gen. I’ve had similar comments from E46 owners about the F87 for example. Doesn’t bother me, I think both are awesome in their own right.

I think both statements are true:

a) F87 keepers are biased towards their car and want to rationalize their decision
a) G87 buyers are biased towards their car and want to rationalize their decision

In any case, it is completely delusional to claim that only F87 keepers have an issue with how this cars looks. Plenty of non-M2 and non-BMW people find it to be awkward and ugly. It's a polarizing design. Nothing wrong in admitting that.
