code P02CF=bad fuel???
P02CF Cylinder 2 Fuel Injector Offset Learning at Max Limit
According to this site below I fit maybe dirty fuel??? http://enginedtc.com/p02cf-bmw-formula My story I filled up yesterday morning at my normal station and 125 miles later I got the code (SES) car feels fine. got the code and read it when I was driving (at a light) got home and didn't clear it, wanted to see if it would be on when I started the car. it was.. I drove to work to see if it would light would go off and it didn't. when I checked it at work it went from a set code to a history code. so I cleared it out and turned off the car. ill toss in some fuel treatment to help the fuel and see what happens. I've had the car since November and have driven about 7000 miles. no cbu history.. my fuel economy 29.7- stock 28.3- JBD 28 - JBD + Xhp I searched and didn't find anything hear with that code.. if it is CBU or injector my extended warranty doesn't cover that, so this will be a job I do if that is bad... |

How many miles on the car?
Any mods other than the JBD? You might want to block the EGR. A constant SES light is annoying but walnut blasting is a huge pain in the ass... |

No CBU history, lower than average mileage before you got it, and injector offset learning limit code...I think most of these cases around here have turned out to be CBU, sorry to say. If it is CBU, clearing the code will make the code go away for a while but it will come back, with increasing frequency.

I'm willing to bet it's CBU. Get it cleaned up, and block or delete the EGR. It'll be smooth sailing from then on. CBU cleaning can be a DIY thing as well, if you're willing. Or install a meth kit and let it do the work.

Do you hear a noisy injector? I ran into same code a few months ago. If so, run a tank of fuel double dosed with Hot Shots diesel extreme or standyne fuel injector cleaner. I had the same code and the diesel extreme quieted the injectors significantly and code has been gone for 7K miles

That is what I am hoping... I have some juice... i have noticed that it seems a little more "diesely" lately and I think I read that is another sign of cbu.. I'll just start planning to do a cbu and hope that the cleaner will wash out something.. my gut feeling was telling me it wasn't the fuel
Besides a new round of intake gaskets cleaning supplies is that only other thing? Pulling an intake is nothing |

Maybe 400 miles later ses back on... Looks like I will start with a CBU cleaning sooner than later... Maybe I'll do trans, oil, fuel, and cbu over a planned weekend? Get a fresh start at 85k

That would be a pretty aggressive schedule. May be possible if you have a lift, thorough tool selection, a couple helping hands, and have 100% of your supplies ready ahead of time.

Yeah, the intake and heads will take awhile. I did all the other stuff in about 6 hours total, and that was taking my time and messing up on numerous occasions. For the transmission pan, be sure you have extra bolts. 1 of mine snapped when I changed the pan.

So just a little update on my situation... my code had been coming back about every 400 miles... I would just reset it and go on since I know I am about to do a CBU. I have been filling up at the same station during this time, but went to a buc-ee's to fill up since it has I high diesel turn over being a "truck stop".
My light has been off since I filled up there... into two tanks now??? I made a large purchase from idparts fuel filter oil and filter trans fluid and filter intake gaskets in the comments I asked for a free hat and that request from others has been ignored, but guess what!! not only did they throw in a hat I got a handful of stickers!!! AWESOME This is my second purchase from them and not only is there shipping fast I have been very happy with my service with them. ok shout out done!! lol I have a few odds and ends to get before I clean the CBU, but that is first on my list... |

I did not my car came with a new air/cabin filter, so I just got the oil and diesel filter since I can not check the filter without opening it...
It is $1.01 cheaper to get the filter kit and oil change kit... (lol) and since you will get two oil filters it will save you an extra $15.95 (cost of an oil filter) |
