E85 pumps in nj

I downloaded an app and they showed me some stations in Newark that sell E85 fuel but I'll have to call in the morning to see about that.

Can people post in here where in nj they get actually got their E85 fuel? Maybe create this as a sticky if it helps everyone? Lets see if that will happen.

Just locations of the E85 pumps. This isn't the thread to talk about pros and cons of E85. I'll make another thread for that haha. Post away!

There's also that Power Gas station in West Orange...

Question: Aside from the risk of being shot/robbed/mugged, the e85 should be legit from that station, right? No chance of the gas being tampered with / diluted out?

I've been getting e85 from the Gulf Station at EWR, but it's a little out of the way for me, but I sometimes work by the Veteran's Hospital just around the corner from the Power Gas station in West Orange... would be SUPER convenient to just fill up a jug with some e85 and then get my e10 from my local Exxon...

You guys are running e85 mix of some sort without upgrading the fuel pump with no issues?? Been hesitant to do a mix. Figures I would upgrade the pump first.

I used to run a mix when I was on the JB4. Map 5 adjusts accordingly, and you'll feel a nice difference just be sure not to mix a heavy mix. I would run about 3/4 tank gas 1/4 tank e85, sometimes a little more. I found my pump having issues when I'd run 1/2 e85 1/2 93.

Question:

Since the e90 tank capacity is 16 gallons, a safe e85 mix is 12 gallons of 93 octane and 4 gallons of e85?

So I went to the Power Gas station in West Orange. FYI, there are two Power Gas stations in West Orange. The one that sells e85 gas is on Sandford Ave. Got gas at 7ish. I had no problem at all. Safe area. Well lit and camera's outside. Seeing the e85 sign got me giddy. Took a few runs on 280. I did a 70/30 mix of 93 octane from Shell (v power) and e85 gas. Love the difference. As the driver, only felt the torque when I was really pushing it but not with this mix. Felt good. Maybe it's cuz I was paying more attention so I'll try this mix a few more times before upping the dosage.

Awesome... I've been mixing 5 gallons of e85 with the rest e10 and have a custom Cobb tinge through Jake at PTF... so smooth it's amazing... from what I understand, up to even 40% e85 mix is okay...past that is probably fine, but you should run a full tank of e10 every once in a while because e85 sucks up moisture and could cause cracks in lines after a long period of time. Don't quote me on that though. All I know for sure is that it's safe to constantly run 40% e85 mixes...

Did you log your car after you blended? Even with a flash tune, some cars have trouble running anything above 20% ethanol on the stock pump. Obviously the last thing you want to do is making aggressive pulls while running maxed fuel trims & leaning out WOT.

Didn't do any logging. Did it a few times and stopped cuz it started getting cold. I know a mix will add some moisture to the gas lines and it was getting cold. Don't want to run into any cracking issues. Planning on upgrading my fuel pump and gas lines in the spring and doing some logging.

No problem, but for anyone planning on using E85 once the weather gets nice.....

DO NOT BUY POWER GAS E85! Honestly it is crap, and has been tested to normally be in the 60% range. I have a straight E85 tune, and EVERY time last summer I used Power Gas E85, I had timing corrections (which should never happen on E85).... The Newark Airport Gulf Airport has E85, it's a bit of a bitch to get to the station but I've never had problems with the E85 quality.
