F87 Trade-In Value when Purchasing G87

For those willing to disclose, what values is everyone getting for their F87 when trading in for their G87? I got my offer today and it was pretty far off what I was expecting. I am curious to hear if anyone else is having similar experiences.

Met the new owner yesterday at a car meet, he paid $59K for it.

That's pretty much in range with KBB's (which I understand is going to be on the optimistic side) trade in for M2C with that amount of miles. I am getting offered wholesale for my F87 ($33k) which seems pretty low.

Comp or Original? What’s your mileage/year/options?

Sell to Carvana. I just sold my car to them this morning (Camaro SS 1LE) tô make room for the M2.

Carvana gave me $4K more than BMW dealer and the transaction took under 2 min. Not exaggerating.

Even considering the tax savings it was a much better deal, and, when M2 arrives, I don’t need to deal with trade.

2 minutes? Damn! Thought they would do a thorough inspection before cutting the check.

In my County in Florida, based on the OP's $38k trade offer and $4k extra at Carvana, that would be a $1,340 savings.

I got a quote on Carvana earlier and they offered $35,900. With the tax credit/benefit we get in PA for trading it the extra from Caravana basically gets wiped, unfortunately.

Check out Vroom, Carvana, CarMax…. It all varies based on what inventory they really need. Can get an offer in literally 5 mins online.

In my case BMW dealer beat all of them. Ended up getting 4k more at dealer for a 103k mile f80 that needed about 2-3k in maintenance (rotors, tires, spark plugs, fluid services) plus saved me about 2.5k with CTs 7.75% luxury tax 😬

Yeah I got around $6k more from Vroom on my C7 than I was getting from dealers on trade-in offers or Carvana

I've never traded in a car to a dealer.

Bought my OG F87 for $44,000 in 2018. Sold it for $44,000 in 2023 to someone directly. .

Plus, made over $2,500 selling stock wheels, downpipe, intake, and various extra bits and pieces.

Same here with the tax credit for trading in. It makes more sense for me to trade it in then sell it somewhere else.

Check out texas auto value. I listed my f82 m4 on marketplace and they purchased my car at full asking price, which is much higher than what the dealer was offering on trade.

I did not trade-in, but did sell my F87 to an MB dealer for 51.2 last month to make room for the G. MY19 Comp with 10k miles.

That's exactly why I try to sell on my own & through private party. But sometimes we don't have the time & patience for that. So we pay big time for the quick & effortless dealership handoff instead.

The hassle of selling privately plus losing the tax brake from the trade-in. I guess dealerships know this and can low ball on trade-ins. Especially in situations where they know we won't walk away from the car and even if they do, it will sell the next day.
