Cars kicking my ass lol, I need you n54 gurus lol

So all started couple months ago I would lock the car and the water pump would turn on and keep running on max power , scanned the car got

2DC3 Monitoring , terminal 15
2E83 Electric coolant pump , power reduced
2E85 bsd, electric coolant pump: missing
2E97 Generator

I was going to replace my alternator before the code even appeared and once replace the 2E97 code went away. Initially thought maybe the alternator tripped all these codes. Soon after cleared all them and these keep up again

2E83 Electric coolant pump
2E85 bsd, electric coolant pump: missing

New code this time
2E8B intelligent battery sensor(ibs) missing

Went for a drive AGAIN and got this code
2E7C BSD DATA BUS COMMUNICATION FAULT.

Cleared the above drove couple miles and got
2DEC power management, battery
2E7C BSD DATA BUS COMMUNICATION FAULT

OK maybe the battery is screwed, so got it tested and long behold its dead. Got a new battery amg style and yes registered the battery

Once again cleared the codes unplugged the battery overnight , same codes over agin next day. Drove it the next day same codes along with overheating, ok for sure it has to be the water pump . ordered new pump and T- stat installed and bleed the pump.

Went for drive again and got

2ADF IDLE AIR CONTROL, ENGINE SPEED
2AE0 IDLE SPEED CONTROL DURING COLD START, PLAUSIBILITY
2DED POWER MANAGEMENT , CLOSED-CIRCUIT CURRENT VIOLATION
2E7C DATA BUS COMMUNICATION FAULT

So today started again to work on it and got

2E83 Electric coolant pump , power reduced operation
2E85 electric coolant pump missing
2E8B intelligent battery sensor missing

Guys I need some input on what the hell is going with this car , going to replace the IBS sensor on the battery ? Had the car since 2010 never has it acted up like this lol

Some input and advice would be nice on suggestion what to do next?

I'd say your IBS sensor went bad.

How old is your battery?

Oh sorry, I had two 335i do the same due to coolant pumps. Never had any issue with IBS. You can code it out. Maybe try that ?

Was it a genuine BMW alternator and water pump that you installed? Sometimes non genuine parts can cause BSD faults.

Can you activate the pump via turning the heat all the way up on fan level 1 & putting the pedal down to the floor for 10 seconds?

I missed that you put in a new alternator. You put in a Bosch Alternator correct?

Brand of the water pump?

I still say it's your IBS.

It is a VDO pump OEM versus the old contni pump OEM. I been having thoughts about the alternator since it isn't the genuine/or OEM. Other reviewers reviewed the alternator is fine.

Yeah I can activate it , but seems hesitant . Not as the times before where it would constantly run at a constant speed. This time it was on and off and then finally slow on to fully speed. Pump is VDO . That is that part I kind of regret right now not getting the Bosch in case all this mess is caused by not getting it. But wouldn't it throw a code or some sort of fault at least related to the alternator .

Other than that the car runs fine, no SES light or any half engine lights etc .

The on and off slow to full speed is normal for coolant bleeding process. Code the dash to monitor coolant temps and drive. If you have a water pump issue you will know due to temperature issue. That will help eliminate if not the issue.

Yup, what he said. I don't think water pump is your issue, I also run VDO(along with many others) and have about 90k miles on mine(I replaced it when I bought the car) with no issues yet.

I would start looking into the IBS or also the wiring that runs to/from those components on the IBS/BSD bus; which are the alt, waterpump, and oil condition/level sensor. Maybe broken/shorted wire or something like that causing an issue.

Guys I have exact same problem.
The codes that car throw right now are listed:

2DEB Power management, vehicle electrical system
2E8B Intelligent battery sensor, signal
2E8E Intelligent battery sensor, communication
2E83 Electric coolant pump, power-reduced operation
2E85 BSD, message; electric coolant pump: Missing

Car condition now:

1) Drives fine
2) Trip computer does keep reset itself random
3) Got new battery and did the same also with old battery (Pretty sure its not battery)
4) I replaced an alternator (not OEM), so I suspect the module on alternator but still not sure. (The codes are appear about this time period)
5) I replaced a power distribution box that on top of the battery
6) I have no any other codes on DME

Drives me crazy please help!

The BSD line that monitors the IBS, coolant pump, and others I can't remember can be tripped out by any one of the connected devices going bad. So to diagnose the issue you need to start disconnecting devices one by one, in order to be sure of what's causing the issue.

So if you get a coolant pump error, disconnect the coolant pump. If the coolant pump error stays and no other error, then the problem is the coolant pump. On the other hand, if you disconnect the coolant pump and get an IBS errors well as the coolant pump, then you need to plug in the coolant pump and disconnect the IBS to see what happens then.

This is how a coolant pump code can sometimes signal a bad IBS, and it can be diagnosed this way without throwing parts at the problem.

Haven't seen it mentioned but do you have a good clean connections on the ground strap on the driver engine connection and down at the bottom of the battery box?
