Seat back monitoring failure
Hi yesterday i has 4 in the car so used all seats etc. Today I got "restraint systems failure" when I powered on. Plus when I started the car I got "seat back monitoring failure". I voice the fault is with the passenger seat as the upper slide back and front seat buttons do not function on that side , but the button powered seat buttons work fine. The passenger in that seat did adjust the seats backwards so I wondered if it could be a cable.
I checked the fuses I removed the first aid box and looked at the plugs there ok It's very tight to look at the seat belt connector cabling but that looks ok. Moving seats back and forward did not help. Is there anything else Else anyone can suggest before taking it to a garage ? |

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...s-side/lxo1mrK I don't have an E92 or E93, so am NOT personally familiar with the system, but as I read the schematic, the S122 switch contacts are either open or closed when the seatback is LOCKED. The convention used in these schematics is to show the switch in "Rest" position (generally OFF). To me, it would make more sense that the position shown is actually the position (open circuit) when the seatback is unlocked and down, but I can also see how that could be interpreted in an opposite fashion. Either way, you could check to see if that wiring connector, X018124, has been pulled loose, and also test the system (and warning light/display) by placing a jumper between pins 1 & 2 of the disconnected X018124. Here is an Installation Location for the Switch (S122) and its Connector (X018124): https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e93-330d-cab/RYSiTxy Please let us know what you find, George |

Fixed
[IMG][/IMG] so nothing was broken and we did not need to take the seat out. The first image I've circled in green the connector which was at fault. Nothing was disconnected or broken but the third connector in (which is black ) was very very tight.
I did not see this bit but my mechanical friend removed the back of the chair, or pull the button enough to get access and released the pressure. Reseating the connector and now all is working fine. Note another symptom I saw before we fixed it is that the heated seat auto was not working. It is now working also. Also note in order to take the first picture of the plugs I had to remove the first-aid kit which just clicked out. Thank you all for your responses and I hope this helps some one in the future. |

seat back malfunction
Hi,
I am having the same problem here, the driver side has no function working, and the same message is coming up on the screen. I did try jumping the fuse and nothing. I am not sure if it has to do with seat latch locking, I did also tried manually pressing on the lock and checked afterward still no function. Any help would be appreciated |

E93 Seat not working
Please the people that know about this thread I need help with it. the seat dont work because it keeps blowing the fuses. so there is a short to ground. I have code 93C7 which is for the backrest switch it says. the space I'm trying to work with is really tight however I did isolate the wires going into the seat module that makes the fuses blow but not the point of the short. I can't move the seats. I also dont know how to take the seat apart. SO if anyone can advise me on what to do next, I would deeply appreciate it. A lot of talk on this matter don't pertain to my set of seats per se. The seat are have are in a convertible E93. I think they are sport seats
I need to know the wiring for the switch and the power wire location and path. and another question would be...is the power wire or the required action wire that would keep blowing the fuse?? Its hard for me to see the color of the wires too. I know the thicker ones should be power and ground. and the rest on it has to do with controls for the back and forward of the chair and maybe the backrest switch. everything else is plugged in the module and is holding up but nothing works. Well except whatever motor that is near the headrest. that moved one way only |
