Doubt that’s accurate. Limit of stock turbo is around 23 psi I believe

I recommend doing a proper datalog for accurate numbers

Hey Ex3ell ,,,,,,

Which map have you found best works on the m240i . I’m completely stock with just 93 octane .
  • Map 1 didn’t seem to give that much of a boost , was either thinking of map 2 or switching to the absolute map 4 .

Read in the JB forums somethat says these G series b58’s run better on absolute maps than additives. Thoughts or comments ?,,

G chassis cars run high boost from stock, running an absolute map is safer and will get you more consistent results.

If you run an additive map, and the car is already targetting high boost, the DME might drop the timing ignition which will reduce the power

map 1 is +3 PSI
your results are on point

You can also check your datalog and it will show you what is the stock boost on this run and your Jb4 boost. if you have map 1 selected , the difference will be exactly 3 PSI (except during the spool period)

Thanks for your reply Mike . Yes your exactly correct map 1 is adding approx 3psi max to stock boost . my car apparently runs lower boost but higher timing as other data logs I’ve seen shows much higher boost than just 17psi but ofcouse they don’t have 9* of timing like I do , that being said is it still ok to run map 4 . Cus I know map 4 absolute is 20psi and that’s another 3 psi higher than what I run on map 1 and approx 6 psi higher than what my oem map 0 seems to run .

Just checking with ya u think that is ok . I only run shell 93 octane .

THank u

I assume our onboard boost readings in the Sports Display is pretty accurate right?

I run 91 octane (all we get here in Cali from the pump) and have my JB+ installed. I dont think I ever see that I pull more than about 17 or 18 PSI under hard acceleration anywhere in the rev range.

the gauges are not accurate, they show you stock boost

keep in mind, piggybacks operate by tricking the ECU into thinking thats its running stock boost

Mike, you're a legend. Thats why I buy all my stuff from you!

So if I am on the default JB+ setting where they say its about 4psi additional, if the onboard is showing 15 pounds its likely closer to 19 pounds?

thank you

Yes you are approximately pushing 4 PSI on top of the stock boost reflected by the gauges
