Footwell Lights

a quick question for those who already have their cars...
is the front footwell lighted with the color of ambient light selected or is there no ambient light in the front footwell (except for the fade in and fade out entry light)

Thanks in advance

You can code it to be different.

Mine is blue in the footwell and red in the accents/roof lights.

I have a G42 m240i and it genuinely angers me the absolute lack of ambient lighting in my interior since my dealer optioned the M lighting and that is all the ambient lighting in the dash or doors I would’ve had

All stock, I haven't done anything on the interior other than door sills.

And you have a m240i? When did you take delivery because I see your doors have the M lighting but yet have regular ambient elsewhere

Just to confirm. It looks like stock M2 has:

2 lines on the dash
M colors on the door panel
Front footwells
Charging tray/cup holder area

Not sure if the door storage pockets are illuminated from the pic posted.

No I have a G87 M2. I had a 2022 M240i before this that had iD7 which might have a little bit different ambient lighting.

If I remember correctly the G42 had footwell lighting, I didn't option the M lighting in the door cars, so mine matched. There was no ambient lighting on the dash, even though the M Performance carbon interior trim I had would have allowed for it if there was a connector. Other than that, the cubby in front of the cup holders was illuminated as well as the lights that come down from the top of the cabin.

The G42 was definitely a bit more bare bones than even a G20 which was a little disappointing to me.

I haven't seen the G42 with iD8 at night yet, so I can't compare.

Pockets not illuminated, but the door releases handles are.

Thanks
I am perfectly fine without door pocket illumination. Everything I see in your pic is what I want

The photo makes it look brighter than it appears to me; pretty subtle compared to that in my GLE.

Personally, I'm OK with that. I don't want my car to look like the inside of an EDM show. uhns uhns uhns

Hard to compete with the interior of the GLE. I had one as a rental for a few weeks and I was blown away by the ambient lighting in there. I need another income stream to fund a GLE 450 as my daily. 🤣

Ah I saw the m240 in your profile pic which is why I was so confused about the interior lol, congrats on the m2 though but yeah the new g42 with the new idrive is too minimal imo, at night any “ambient lighting” (m Lighting) is super dark and honestly looks like some aftermarket AliExpress shit some ricer kid who thinks the m240 is an actual M car bought and installed only colored ambient lighting is the wireless charging tray and the footwell as well as the door handle… that’s it

With all that light, could you see outside at night?

I dim everything to max. Both my dash and iDrive are set to minimum brightness (and the dash is still brighter than I would've set it to).

Yeah I can see just fine. Even on max brightness I don't feel like BMWs are that bright these days. I remember the GLE and my old C class getting way brighter.
