I try to research things before relying on others for every answer but so far every time I have looked into this I have found those before me have used rear spacers but didnt mention front. Im on 17 inch wheels and just want to push the wheels out a tad and make it flush looking, can anyone recommend a size spacer and type for rear and front as long as it doesnt hurt anything. Ive read hub centric is the best option, and im sure there is a reason, being on the xdrive chasis i just want to make sure and get some feedback before I mess something up.

None of us can tell you which ones to buy because we don't know the offsets for your wheels or any other specs.

Anyway hubcentric hubs are a MUST, if you don't get hubcentric spacers forget about having a smooth ride, your car will vibrate to pieces especially at high speeds. Also keep in mind that your wheel bolts MUST be longer to compensate for the size of the hub spacer that you add.

I personally have the H&R wheel spacers that have been great along with the H&R extended wheel bolts. They are not cheap, but I am not going to trust my life to some shitty eBay hubs and wheel bolts.

I’ve wanted to do spacers on my 335xi for looks but I’ve decided against it. The staggered 18s are fine for me and don’t mess with the original engineering.

I have 2 e92's to which I have added spacers that I purchased used from people on this forum. Both of these cars have OEM wheels on them. My 2012 335i m-sport has 10mm spacers front and rear. My 2012 335is has 10mm front and 12mm rear. I cannot see the difference of just 2mm, but those spacers were what was available used on our marketplace. The appearance for each car has greatly improved.

Subjectively, I have noticed a slightly flatter attitude in aggressive turns. This was not expected, but I suppose should have been. I intend to add spacers to my M roadster this fall or next spring.

yea I guess I didnt leave you guys with much to work with, my bad lol. Kinda like saying hey guys I have a car and want spacers...which ones should i get. Or Hey Doc, im sick and need you to give me the right medicine so I can feel better!! Helps to fill in the blanks sometimes lol. Na I agree with your point its probably best. To anyone else that reads my brilliant fill in the blank thread, Im a square set up 17 inch wheel 225/45r17 tires with offsets I have no clue of so ill do my homework, and eventually re ask the question and give folks more to work with!!

When I was looking for spacers, I found many thread on that, and ordered the one proposed from people having similar wheels offset.


if you want to calculate , 2 ways :

- wheel offset vs car specs.

- measurement tape.

With the tape, remove a good 5mm from what you measure from the tire sidewall to the outer fender, since those fenders got a metal lip (you always can roll it)

As others have said, measure and see how far you want to go. Buy ones made by reputable manufacturers who will tell you it fits your car (Burger Tuning, H&R, ECS Tuning, etc.), and make sure they come with appropriately longer bolts.

As for my personal experience, I have 5, 10, 12, 15, 18, and 25mm spacers in my garage which go on various cars at various times (summer vs winter wheels, etc.). On my 2011 e90 xdrive with the stock M-sport wheels, I like nothing up front and 10mm in the rear. In my 2008 e90, 12mm front and 15mm rear worked well.

The 25mm are for my x5 winter wheels which look silly without spacers after I added the fender flares designed for the wider summer wheels. And the 18mm are for my 2001 M Roadster's front wheels after installing camber bolts, though I could easily get away with more.
