I should add, I don’t have a dog in the fight per we as I haven’t owned either of the cars or any BMW to this point. I was a fan of the F87 and I’m a fan of the G87 and considering purchasing one
Agreed. I mean I still ordered a MANUAL G87 even though everyone says the auto is better (the zf8 is fantastic, had one in my supra) but I want a manual. Its currently sitting at the factory waiting to get on a boat so I can't comment either on how any of those things are haha

I think Joe Achilles got a 4sec 0 to 60 in his long termer. It's definitely an improvement over past BMW manuals. Which is the point of any iteration.

Would love to hear a comparison to the Supra when you have the M2. The Supra has a lot going for it, but I can’t get past the looks (no offense to anyone) I have had a pair of TRD Pro Tacoma / 4Runner and the fake vents everywhere really pisses me off given the premium you pay

Not in a million years

That doesn't mean I wouldn't buy the G87CS; F87CS is just too nice to get rid of

Could it be that this is a M2CS-L?

Not as per what any intel is saying... but man do I hope BMW pulls a fast one and drops the CSL (in 6MT) and breaks the internet and this forum on the release/leak day! That would be the best surprise ever!

And to only make it $100k would help as well so I could afford it haha...

I can honestly say I could see the CSL being the actual model coming... I don't really see them putting this trunk on a CS, since they never have in the past. But that is really just me being hopeful (read: naive) and hoping dreams come true.

I don't know about the manual part, but can imagine it'll easily be around the $120k mark.

The difference between the M2CS and M2CSL is only a measly L; nothing more, and a ducktail points to the L.

I completely agree on price.

If BMW DOESN'T make an M2 CSL before the EOP, they missed the mark for opportunities

A M2 with a 6MT is "THE" car, but I haven't heard one person even remotely approve of the manual in the car. Pretty frustrating given I have to throw down the cash on a gamble and hope I picked right once its shows up and I have to do paperwork
I think it depends on where you're coming from and what your intentions are.

Coming from an old Subaru BRZ the manual in the M2 is excellent and I'm really enjoying it. It's not the fastest compared to the auto but I don't really care about 2/10ths of a second.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in the manual unless you're coming from something really excellent like an S2000 or a Porsche.

If they produced an M2 CSL with similar spec to the M4 CSL, that would mean a more than 100% price increase over the base M2 and likely a very limited number of people who would buy it. So with the luxury tax on cars over CAD$100K, it is likely to be around CAD$200K on the road (M4 CSL was about CAD$220K on the road in BC and Ontario after a few option and sales tax).

What?!? What a F'ing mess. How does that work? Is that based on the total MSRP? So let's say you have a car with a base price of $96K and with options it's either $99K or $101K, are you saying the $101K car is now a $150K or so? Because that is insane.

Luxury tax in Canada is 20% of the value over 100k (for cars). You pay regular applicable taxes on the whole amount (depending on the province 5% to 15%) then an extra 20% for the number above 100k.

As Albator_IIII said the luxury tax is 20% of the value above $100,000 or 10% or the total price, whichever is the lesser.

The price of a prospective M2 CSL being around CAD$200K would be something like:

Base price $150K
Options and other non-tax add-ons $15K
Luxury Tax $13K
Sales Tax (ON 13% HST) $23K

Total price $201K

Come to Australia mate

We pay 33% luxury car tax for cars after the first $76k - and that applies to incidentals such as dealer delivery charges as well 😡

The M4CSL in Australia cost $339k on the road (AUD$1 = USD$0.70)

Dude, between the spiders the size or livestock, the 30 hour flight, and now the quarter million dollar M4s, I'm making a judgement call, there's no way.

If this is what constitutes as cute, I'm staying in the good old US of A.
Side note, I actually would love to visit, one of my buddies came from there in high school and I've always wanted to check it out.

I thought moving from E92 M3 to F8X series was meh, this G87 series is horrendous. Good thing I got the M2CS.

The G87 just so heavy, big long screen (I thought my Tesla was quirky with the screen however BMW have full on TV inside the car lol) and the car just looks like unfinished. No wonder price are dropping, I rather get the M3 with beaver teeth vs the G87 lol.

Good for you?

Seems weird to me to hang out in a place where something you don’t have any interest in is being discussed.

Strictly speaking, he does have a CS - in other words, given "nobody" on the planet has a G87CS, I don't see how he would be in the wrong by commenting here

100% not “wrong” to comment anywhere they like. I’m not a mod or the owner of the site, not my job to determine.

Just seems odd to me. If you strongly dislike the G87 why bother posting when there is specific forums for F87 and G80 /G82.

Regardless, I’m now derailing a thread and everyone is free to post as they like so no need to waste anymore space on this.
