X6 intake design better than 335i/535i (pics)
Thought I would share these.... I like the way the X6 intake is routed compared to the 335i's... Looks like it would be much easier for aftermarket intakes to be made as well.

If you actually stand over the X6 with hood up, there is a lot of room left over (for a V8)
I drove the X6 on saturday, at the dealer right near bimmerfest, and the N54 in this application is TOTALLY anemic. And not compared to a 335, but slow period. Another 100hp, 150ftlbs, and two more cylinders is optional and necessary! And for the record, the X6 looks HOT in person (especially with the 20in wheels). |

+1... thus they had to route the inlets around the engine in the 335/535 and not over it...

It's a massive SUV, what the hell did you expect? It's considerably faster than the Porsche and MB SUVs with similar power levels. Though admittedly it's not a full on SUV, the interior is very nearly as big as is the car itself, the styling is the only real difference. (Which I might add looks incredible.)

I have room to spare after putting in this... If you have a 335i there is not much else you will need.

im aware of the cai's out there for our car but i dont think you get what im trying to get at with the x6's intake piping... being routed the way it is on the x6, that eliminates the restrictions on the 335/535 form the plastic piping that runs in front and behind the motor which is really oddly shaped and has all different bents and goes down to like 0.5" wide in front/rear of the motor along with the extra length
