I want a 335!
Maybe you guys can help me answer some questions.
Right now I have a highly-modded '06 Dodge Charger R/T. Currently, I eat stock 335i's... but at the cost of 8mpg. I'm looking for a more fuel efficient car, and the 335 with minor modifications are quick as hell and from my understanding; great on gas. Is there anything specific I should look for? I'm a college student with a small budget. I'm definitely buying used. I'm looking to stay as close to $25,000 as possible (I know they cost more than that though). I'm thinking black sedan automatic with black or red leather with the sport package. The coupes look better but I doubt there is any room in the rear. Anything you guys can tell me, I'm all ears! |

it gonna be hard to find one that cheap, unless its been wrecked and then repaired. if you could come up with 10k more here is the best deal out there. If I wouldn't already have one, I would jump on this deal.

Hmm... OP, I think you're looking at this the wrong way. A BMW 3-series is not a race car (even though many people turn it into one). It's a German luxury car with racing potential. That means that it has all the nasty little mechanical and electrical problems zee Germans are known for (just look at some of the posts on the main board for examples) as well as the solid engineering and performance. The part of your post that worries me is the "I'm a student on a budget" part. You don't want a used BMW out of warranty if you're on a budget. A very wise person once told me that, in order to own one of these cars out of warranty, you'll have to have at least 2k sitting around in case something breaks. If that last sentence just made your stomach turn, then a BMW may not be right for you.
I also agree with the post above mine - your budget is too low to get anything that's not been wrecked. You'll also want to go CPO as well, which will incur a price premium. You need to go to at least 30k for a 335i coupe (as they've only been in production for the last two years (or something like that, I can't seem to remember right now). |
